This position is for Maple Stamping, a division of Cosma International.

Maple Stamping requires an individual who can apply World Class/Lean Manufacturing principles and methods to optimize material conveyance processes throughout the facility; as well as to promote, devise and manage continuous improvement projects relevant to material conveyance operations within the Division.
Evaluate cycle times on assembly lines, calculate min/max line side inventories, operator walk and movements in order to define the right presentation at the line.
Work with Manufacturing Engineers/Program Managers/Customers to establish optimal Work in Process (WIP and Finished Good (FG) containers
Design and support flow rack construction for line side presentation.
Design and improve Material Conveyance routes for line side delivery of WIP and pick up of FG.
Develop Standardized Work for all material conveyance tasks/roles in facility.
Train operators in material flow and work instructions.
Work with ergonomics and safety committees to establish standard which support world class manufacturing initiatives.
Work with Production Control Team to develop and maintain Plan for Every Part (PFEP).
Design and support installation of storage racks, supermarket/staging/decanting areas.
Maintain stock control over racking materials, casters, etc. For new flow racks and cart designs.
Communicate with material handling equipment suppliers as required for new implementations or maintenance of existing systems.
Develop and maintain shop floor documentation, cost reduction projects and waste elimination projects, support Kaizen Teams to improve performance on cells.
Develop and maintain 5S programs in each area to support lean manufacturing requirements.
Work with appropriate members of Management Team on CAPEX requirements and follow up on orders as necessary.
Knowledge and Education
Post-Secondary education in engineering, industrial or operations management is required, preference will be given to candidates with Engineering Degree.
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project).
Good command of the English language both verbal, written and the ability to communicate with the customer.
Experience in use of 3D modeling software.
Experience with AS400 CMS an asset.
Experience in supply chain management, manufacturing/industrial engineering and/or packaging engineering considered an asset.
Experience in a manufacturing environment which includes stamping and assembly.
Skills and Competencies
Working knowledge of material flow methodologies from a Lean Thinking perspective.
Experience in mining, collecting, cleansing and analyzing data from ERP systems.
Analytically-minded with solid organizational and communication skills able to meet prescribed deadlines, sometimes under pressure.
Demonstrates skills to consistently achieve commitment and consensus from all stakeholders.
Ability to consult, set goals, objectives and timelines and measure and monitor progress and results against plan through effective use of standard project management tools and techniques.
Ability to discuss strategic and sensitive issues, aware of the impact a new program may have on existing or expansion of facility.
Is aware of how the overall production process needs to follow lean principles and makes decisions to achieve Lean principles from the design phase through to implementation.
Normal amount of sitting or standing, average mobility to move around an office or manufacturing floor environment, able to conduct normal amount of work at a computer, may require local travel.
Must have a valid passport to enter the US & driver's license as travel is required on occasion.
Wears all PPE as required, ability to carry out routine, repetitive tasks such as reaching, pushing, pulling, standing, walking, lifting, packing, stacking, bending and some physical lifting.
