Job Description

The Material Control/Supply Chain Intern will gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced Supply Chain environment for an innovative medical device manufacturer. This position will be involved in the day to day Supply Chain processes. The Intern will gain experience in a variety of Supply Chain roles, such as production planning, procurement processing, inventory management and shipping and receiving, using an SAP system in an ERP environment . Constant evolution of the healthcare industry provides the Supply Chain Intern with a great learning experience.

Specifically, this position will have an active role in the day to day operations. The position will also be given project management opportunities, participate in problem solving activities and will be involved in diverse teams.

The Supply Chain Intern position is located at the BD-Broken Bow, NE, facility, which opened in 1960 with 55 employees. After 11 expansions, the 300,000 square foot facility employs approximately 485 associates. BD-Broken Bow is the world's largest manufacturer of Vacutainer tubes, shipping products worldwide, utilizing world class manufacturing techniques, driven by a combination of the latest technology, innovation, and processes.

Intern is provided company sponsored housing while working at our South and East Lots in Broken Bow, NE. Job Responsibilities: This person will be responsible for: * Assisting in all aspects of feedlot operations. * Processing of incoming cattle and sorting of current cattle inventory at our South Feedlot, includes: giving vaccinations, castration, tagging, implanting, and using topical pour-ons. * Assisting mobile hospital team with all cattle doctoring, temping, cattle movement. * Working with the Feeding and Mill team to deliver precise rations accurately and efficiently. * Maintaining and repairing feedlot fences, steel structures, and other feedlot infrastructures that sustain optimum cattle welfare and containment. Job Qualifications: Ideal candidate would possess the following skill set and experience: * Computer experience. * Mechanical interest and aptitude. * Beef Quality Assurance experience. * Commitment to safety and quality culture. * Two years of cattle handling and cattle health experience. * Preferred majors include Animal Science, Feedlot Management, Cattle Health and other Ag related majors. Other Job Information: This position requires: * Individual must be able to work in adverse weather conditions if needed. * Exerting 50-100 pounds of force occasionally; 25-50 pounds of force frequently; 10-20 pounds of force constantly. Standing and sitting frequently; occasionally walking, carrying, lifting/lowering, pushing/pulling, bending, twisting, climbing, stairs, reaching/handling/grasping, and kneeling/crouching.
