QA / QC Material Compliance Supervisor

  • Function in a customer facing Material Compliance roll:

  • Conduct audits and consult customers to ensure compliance with associated SOP/Protocols for:

Healthcare Solution-

  • Coordinate with Healthcare Solutions group to target DEA/RMW and TMW customers

  • Review dashboard metrics to CES/HCS management and select customers monthly

  • RMW/TMW/CDSW Audit and consult with new customers and review the Covanta approval requirements, evaluate customer operations and measure their ability to meet Covanta requirements and their own compliance requirements.

  • Conduct periodic site visits to review operations to assure continued compliance. Review any off spec issues that may have been documented by QA/QC. Document all visits following audit documents and reporting requirements, establish and follow audit and site visit schedule

  • Profiled Waste & RMW;

  • Coordinate with Material Compliance Coordinator to review day to day discrepancies/ off spec waste recorded by EFW on site QA/QC, take lead on resolution process

  • Work with Corporate based Material Approvals group to coordinate efforts with TSDFs/MPFs

  • TSD Blend and Class A Protocol &RMW; Re-Certify existing Blend/Class A approvals using established on site review and audit documents. Conduct site visit upon establishing a new approval approvals using Blend/Class A Protocol and site audit report format

  • Review and audit Customers who trigger a follow up based upon number of discrepancies and or risk level thresh hold


  • Work with site operations to ensure compliance with internal approvals for TSD Blends and any others. Ensure that all blend specifications are met and any periodic analytical has been documented and complies with blend protocol

  • Periodic review of receiving and QA/QC operations for all waste.

MPF Disposal Vendor Audits-

  • Conduct audits of 3rd part disposal sites using established audit documents and protocols. File reports and review with management to make recommendations on next steps or path forward with vendor. Establish and follow site audit schedule.

Position Requirements

Minimum High School diploma and 5 years experience or equivalent training. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially with Excel (Spreadsheets, pivot tables), Outlook, Project, People Soft ALM experience desirable. High level of knowledge and experience with Profiled Waste and Regulated Medical Waste. Ability to communicate effectively and easily with management / employees at different levels of the organization. Responsible for training of all employees with this program. Also, review of SOP annually with all employees involved in the PW and RMW program.

Exposure to occasional noise. Work with a minimum direction and periodic supervision. Physical Functions Ability to stand and/or walk for up to 8 hours. Ability to occasionally lift and/or carry up to 30 pounds from ground to overhead up to 30 minutes of workday (i.e., assisting in stocking/maintaining inventory levels). Ability to occasionally lift and/or carry up to 60 pounds from ground to waist level (i.e., to replenish fountain syrups). Ability to push/pull with arms up to a force of 20 pounds (i.e., utilizing a hand-truck). Ability to bend at waist with some twisting up to one hour of workday. Ability to grasp, reach and manipulate objects with hands up to all day. (This work requires eye-hand coordination, and may require climbing a ladder to store and retrieve materials or place and remove signs.)
