Position Summary

This role will be responsible for purchasing goods and services for our organization in a cost-effective and timely manner. As well as aid in the support of material readiness, inventory and accountability of all corporate materials, aviation parts, Ground Support Equipment (GSE), tools, and commercial product. The employee will receive formal, informal, and on-the-job training.

Metrea Special Aerospace (MSA) provides a full range of aerospace solutions from integrated C4ISR operational services and tailored aviation services to advanced tactical helicopter training. Metrea Enterprise Overview

Metrea is a defense company dedicated to translating commercial innovation into solutions for the hardest problems in national security. With deep mission expertise, Metrea focuses on delivering effects as-a-service across a spectrum of domains including Air, Space, Electromagnetic & Cyber, and Simulation. Metrea Management provides central services to 12 global business units via Operations, Solutions, Strategy, Legal, and Finance teams.

Essential Functions and Competency Statements

  • Executes rapid procurement of aircraft parts, GSE, expendables, and other required commercial items.

  • Generate purchase requisitions, purchase orders and preserve necessary supporting documentation according to company policies and procedures.

  • Maintains and develops vendor relationships and is responsible for sourcing new vendor relationships when necessary.

  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders to determine procurement needs.

  • Receives, unpacks, examines, and routes all incoming shipments, rejects damaged items, records shortages, and corresponds with shipper to rectify damages and shortages.

  • Receives and processes all defective parts returned for replacement or credit.

  • Reports defective materials or questionable conditions to supervisor.

  • Ensures rapid delivery of items via DoD and commercial freight or express methods.

  • Performs functions necessary to track various inbound and outbound shipments to destination.

  • Responsible for creating, tracking, receiving, and updating the status of all shipments.

  • Completes accurate monthly inventories of all items.

  • Support the aircraft maintainers, program managers, and finance department to ensure accountability and status updates on procured and GFE items.

  • Manage and update administrative filling systems and databases.

  • Resolve difficult or complicated challenges.

  • Ability to maintain effective working relationships.

  • Diligently attends to details and pursues quality in accomplishing tasks without direct supervision.

  • Must be able to communicate effectively with other colleagues and supervisors, through excellent oral and written skills.

Supervisory Responsibility

This role has no supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment

This role operates in a diverse environment that includes an office setting using standard office equipment, a warehouse setting with various weather and temperature conditions to include extreme heat and humidity, as well as outdoors with potential adverse weather conditions and high noise levels. During deployment, employees will be living under field conditions and must be able to work with little supervision in austere or arduous environments. Work environment varies widely based on geographic location of contract operations.

Physical Demands

This is a largely sedentary role; however, some physical abilities will be required.

Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time / Hybrid position with typical working hours of Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Hours and work shift may change in accordance with department and business needs.

Travel

Travel requirements are up to 10%

Required Education, Experience and Certificates

  • Education: Associate's Degree

  • 2 years' work experience in lieu of Associate's Degree

  • Experience: 3 years' experience in Procurement or Supply Chain

Certificates and Licenses:

  • Valid Driver's License

Computer Skills:

  • Microsoft Office Suite

Preferred Education, Experience and Certificates

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree

  • Experience:

  • 5 years' experience in procurement or Supply Chain

  • Experience using Microsoft Dynamics D365, Veryon/Flight Docs, or similar platform

  • 1 year experience supporting a Government Contract

Additional Eligibility Qualifications

  • Must be able to accomplish any and all duties with little or no assistance.

  • Must have good command of the English language; oral and written.

Work Authorization/Security Clearance

  • Employee must be able to work legally in the US.

  • Employee must be able to hold and maintain a Secret (or higher) Clearance Level.
