ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following (other duties may be assigned):

  • Load and analyze customer demand and advise management of possible risks.

  • Organize and maintain materials department files on paper and in the system.

  • Contact vendors concerning material related issues.

  • Complete cycle count process as outlined by the Materials Manager.

  • Report monthly measurables.

  • Track inbound shipments.

  • Provide work instructions to the Materials Specialists and Material Handlers.

  • Review inventory levels to assure material availability.

  • Pull, verify, and report GM production requirements.

  • Assist with the processing of defective material, returns, scrap, and miscellaneous inventory adjustments and printing related reports.

  • Interface with material systems for maintenance.

  • CUM reconciliation with the customer and suppliers.

  • Maintain listing of current supplier and customer contacts.

  • Notify the Materials Manager, Plant Manager, Production Manager and other appropriate personnel of any materials issues that may negatively impact the line or the customer.

  • Follow ISO14001and TS16949 procedures/processes.

  • Actively participate in self-directed work team model.

  • Ability to work overtime as needed.

  • Participate in plant recycling programs.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Contribute to achievement of quality/management objectives by ensuring that raw materials are ordered and delivered to the facility in a timely manner.

  • Maintain plant Plan For Every Part (PFEP).QUALIFICATIONS:

VIEW JOBS 2/17/2020 12:00:00 AM 2020-05-17T00:00 This position will work as Senior Materials Planning & Procurement Specialist to support a fully integrated, highly complex and efficient global production organization. Specifically, this role will be responsible for leading the planning and coordination of material purchases in support of bottling operations, new product launches and redesigns for Brown-Forman Distillery Operations (BFDO). The role supports the production of over 400 finished goods SKUs utilizing over 250 packaging and processing components across 2 production sites and 4 bottling lines. A key responsibility of this role is project management. The Senior Materials Planning and Procurement Specialist will lead the coordination of projects as initiated by the brand teams and is responsible for managing key internal and external partners in an effort to deliver successful project launches with strict timelines. In addition, the role will be held accountable to the expertly managing company resources and capital to support an annual volume of 6.5 million cases. Job Responsibilities: Accurately plan material purchases to support BFDO bottling plans. Materials include but are not limited to labels, shrink bands, flavors, knock downs, closures, cartons, glass and PET to support BFDO. Plan for annual BFDO bottling schedule of 6.5 million cases while limiting exposure for material obsolescence. Lead BFDO Project Team by hosting monthly project meetings, tracking project activity, working with internal partners to keep projects on track according to project timelines. Confirm materials are being produced to Brown-Forman specification working with B-F Packaging, QC, QA and R&D teams. Work with PMO and Brand Managers on new product launches and package redesigns to ensure that new materials are planned, approved and available to meet project timelines. Lead and assist with establishing optimal inventory levels for critical materials while establishing contingency plans. Lead to build and maintain productive relationships with suppliers to ensure accurate understanding of B-F's needs and expectations. Lead the creation and implementation of SOP's to support Planning and Procurement activities. Participate in demand review meetings with Supply Chain team and take active role in developing the communication and relationships with that team. Lead the team's work to utilize APO and other systems to enhance material planning working with supply chain. Lead and share results with other planners within organization through planning annual best practice sharing events. Assist with supplier expectations and regular review meetings. Work with internal and external partners on continuous improvement initiatives to ensure we deliver high quality, cost-effective products. Initiate and participate on continuous improvement teams to establish zero-loss mindset. Required Experience & Education: Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or Related Field. 5 years experience in planning, procurement or related field within manufacturing or similar environment. Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered. Demonstrated ability to lead, coordinate, and manage multiple projects in a changing environment.
