Job Summary:

We have an opening for a Master Technician in our Production Facility in Goleta, California, that is involved in the packaging of IR detectors for high reliability space, military and commercial applications. You will train to become a skilled electro-mechanical technician in a variety of processes as assigned by management. You will be working with cryoprobe testing and will be familiar with cryogenics.

Responsibilities to Anticipate:

  • Conducts tests and measurements throughout stages of production to determine control over applicable variables; and services, troubleshoots and solves production process problems with processes or equipment already in operation

  • Reviews field support requirements and recommends tools and test equipment to engineering

  • May make recommendations concerning acquisition and use of new technological equipment and materials

  • Performs professional work regularly across multiple Manufacturing disciplines

  • Monitor and provide training for new employees

  • Foster an environment of inclusiveness, belonging, and purpose

  • Must wear company provided Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and strictly follow all safety related processes, procedures and protocols

  • Prepare daily status reports at the end of the shift

  • Leads in orienting, training, assigning and checking the work of technical/business support employees

Basic Qualifications:

  • Typically Requires: AA/AS degree (or other 2-year post high school training) with a minimum of 10 years relevant experience

  • At least one year of leadership experience and/or 3 years customer service

  • Experience using general lab equipment like meters, power supplies, and small hand-held tools (tweezers, screw drivers, etc.)

  • Minimum of 1 year experience in a cryogenics environment

  • CMES experience

  • Must be knowledgeable in operating Dave core, Testlib, Matlab and Talon software.

  • Prior Test experience with thermal cameras and familiarity with environmental stress screening.

  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A self-motivated, self-disciplined individual

  • Previous experience working in a technical field, around ESD sensitive parts is a plus

  • Understanding of FOD and FOD reduction methods and concerns

  • Experience in Excel, configuration / data management, and electronic test equipment

  • Matlab, Dave core, TestLab & talon software experience

  • ESS environmental stress screening experience

  • Thermal screening experience

Hybrid: Employees who are working in Hybrid roles will work regularly both onsite and offsite. Ratio of time working onsite will be determined in partnership with your leader.

Remote: Employees who are working in Remote roles will work primarily offsite (from home). An employee may be expected to travel to the site location as needed

The salary range for this role is 64,000 USD - 137,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company's performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
