Position Summary
The Master Technician requires experience and technical expertise to diagnose drivability, air conditioning and electrical systems. It is expected to use leadership and mentoring skills to drive a team to increase customer care and satisfaction A successful Master Technician will have direct interaction with customers and deliver superior service through educating the customer on the problems and proposed solutions for their vehicle.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and repair to specifications -- brake and hydraulic, exhaust, primary and/or advanced fuel ignition and electrical, suspension and alignment, air conditioning and computer systems.

  • Perform job duties of all lower job descriptions (Technician A, Technician B, Mechanic, General Service Technician)

  • Adequately explain technical diagnoses and needed repairs to non-mechanical individuals which may include employees and customers on an as-required basis.

  • Continuously learn new technical information and techniques in formal training sessions in order to stay abreast with rapidly changing automotive technology.

  • Assist fellow technicians/mechanics in performing technical activities.

  • Keep store management aware of mechanical repair problems as they occur.

  • Maintain and organized and neat shop

  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures, safety, and environmental rules

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

This position is a leader in the shop. We expect you to help set the pace and tone while helping to develop the team around you. Collaboration and a team first mentality are a must if you are looking for success in this role. In addition, we require review the following to measure your fit for this role:

  • A High School Diploma or GED

  • 5+ years of strong automotive mechanical diagnosis, problem-solving and repair experience.

  • 8 or more ASE certifications are PREFERRED for this position (A1 through A8)

  • Section 609 Certification required

  • State Inspection license if applicable

  • High level of motivation, energy and a customer-focused attitude.

  • Must have a valid driver's license.

  • Successful completion of pre-employment background check and drug screen

  • Availability to work days, nights, holidays, and weekends as needed

VIEW JOBS 4/3/2020 12:00:00 AM 2020-07-02T00:00 The UNM Comprehensive Cancer Center is looking for a Master Structural Tech to join our Plant Operations team. This position will: a) Assist with management of projects, work orders, and tasks within the WebTMA Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) program. Leads and contributes to the development process of smaller collaborative projects and serves as a secondary or support liaison between client groups, consultants, and various institutional service units. Supports and assists management with the coordination of construction activities that disrupt stakeholder operations. Makes recommendations and develops drawings and/or sketches of repairs required for work scope description and estimating; prepares bill of material list, and provides material and labor cost estimates for project completion. b) Supports management by assisting with the review process regarding healthcare projects for constructability, code compliance, and completeness of documentation, according to the established phase objectives. Assists with monitoring quality, coordination, and support of work performed by internal resources, as well as external consultants/contractors for assigned projects. Assists with design review to ensure accuracy with planned objectives/schedule, and compliance with relevant regulations (including NM Department of Health, and The Joint Commission accreditation standards), and University Standards. c) Utilizing ASTM protocols, the position will be responsible for performing Facility Condition Assessment(s) (FCA) and inspections for areas of multiple buildings within scope. Includes exterior building envelope (roof, rainscreen panels, moisture barrier, etc.), interior architectural finishes (such as walls, doors, glazing systems, flooring, and ceilings), and exterior site improvements (such as sidewalks, grading/drainage, stairways, and retaining walls). Deficiencies will be documented to develop a complete reconciliation of deferred maintenance. d) Constructs new architectural interiors (walls, ceilings, doors, etc.), and repairs damage to existing walls and ceilings from old fasteners/fixtures, and normal wear and tear (patients, carts, etc.). Inspects, constructs, and performs repairs to interior architectural life safety systems, including firewalls, fire doors, and MEP penetrations. Performs finish structural carpentry, to include new framing, insulation, patching, tape, and texture drywall to a high finish level (ASTM Level 5), repaint surfaces with appropriate product (epoxy finish, anti-microbial paint, primer, etc.). e) Demolish, drill, cut, pour, and finish new structural concrete for sidewalks, stairways, floors, and foundations; install anchor bolts and mount heavy permanent equipment. Repair or replace floor coverings, including carpet, welded vinyl sheets, or tile. f) Leads and guides the work of lower level staff (Structural Tech or Trade Tech Helpers) performing finish carpentry, masonry, or concrete work. Responsible for ensuring worksite and patient safety; including adherence to the Joint Commission Environment of Care requirements (temporary containment for negative pressure, HEPA filtration of all construction area exhaust, etc.), Infection Control, and Life Safety. g) Install, repair, or replace joint sealants, caulking, moisture barrier, trim/flashing, and minor roofing for exterior building envelope and interior aesthetic finishes. The University of New Mexico Comprehensive Cancer Center is the Official Cancer Center of New Mexico and the only National Cancer Institute-designated Cancer Center in a 500-mile radius. Its 124 board-certified oncology specialty physicians include cancer surgeons in every specialty (abdominal, thoracic, bone and soft tissue, neurosurgery, genitourinary, gynecology, and head and neck cancers), adult and pediatric hematologists/medical oncologists, gynecologic oncologists, and radiation oncologists. The 132 cancer research scientists affiliated with the UNMCCC were awarded $34.5 million in federal and private grants and contracts for cancer research projects and published 301 high quality publications. Promoting economic development, they filed more than 30 new patents since FY16, and since 2010, have launched 11 new biotechnology start-up companies. Scientists associated with the UNMCCC Cancer Control & Disparities have conducted more than 60 statewide community-based cancer education, prevention, screening, and behavioral intervention studies involving more than 10,000 New Mexicans. Finally, the physicians, scientists and staff have provided education and training experiences to more than 230 high school, undergraduate, graduate, and postdoctoral fellowship students in cancer research and cancer health care delivery.
