Position Description:

CGI Federal is seeking a Master Project Scheduler for a full IT outsourcing contract for a major client. As part of the Program Management Office (PMO), under the direction of the Business Operations Manager, the Master Project Scheduler is responsible for supporting all aspects of project scheduling for the program. This includes maintaining the program's Integrated Master Schedule, working with Project Managers on individual project schedules, maintaining project schedules for smaller efforts where there is no official Project Manager, and supporting and generating project reporting for multiple levels of the organization. As a member of the PMO, the Master Project Scheduler, will work to ensure the highest level of integrity is maintained and serve as the expert in the schedules.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

  • Work with Project Managers and/or Technical Leads on development of schedules for new projects

  • Apply GAO and industry best practices to project schedules and perform quality analysis on schedules prior to baselining

  • Maintain the Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) and work with CGI leadership and technical team leads to determine critical tasks and resources and their interdependencies across the program

  • Develop and maintain schedule artifacts and other program documentation related to deliverables to the customer and to CGI leadership

  • Determine the critical path of the assigned portions of program based on schedule progress and established task dependencies

  • Interact daily or weekly with technical leads, CGI leadership, and client personnel by providing schedule status data

  • Develop scheduling status reports to help senior management understand critical path items, at-risk milestones, resource constraints and overall health of the portfolio.

  • Produce schedule based reports used at status meetings at various levels of the organization

  • Support and drive the team's continuous improvement efforts

  • Will work at CGI Federal or client site

  • May require limited travel to various client or CGI sites

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

  • Sole US Citizenship.

  • Advanced MS Project skills

  • MS SharePoint, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint and other Microsoft Office applications

  • Experience producing and managing a resource/cost loaded schedule for the life cycle of a project

  • Experience in critical path analysis, earned value management, baselining, measuring and tracking progress, and generating reports

  • Knowledge and experience in schedule quality analysis i.e. DCMA 14 point assessment

  • Skilled at performing analysis and data evaluation

  • Proven ability to support multiple projects and tasks at once and effectively prioritize in a fast-paced work environment to meet deadlines

  • Experience in providing direction and advising program managers or technical leads on scheduling

  • Bachelor's Degree or higher and 5+ years of related experience.

  • Demonstrated ability to contribute to the development of client deliverables

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability and initiative to set goals and execute

  • Ability to work within a team environment with a solid work ethic.
