Master Scheduler

Position Summary

The Master Scheduler reports to the Manager, Supply Planning.

The Master Scheduler is a diverse position covering the planning, scheduling, releasing and tracking of workflow from the operations department through Supply Chain.

Catalent's Winchester location is the flagship US manufacturing location for large scale complex controlled release (CR) oral dose forms, with integrated analytical and development services. With 20 years of expertise in product development, technology transfers and commercial manufacturing, and roots in industry leading Glatt technology. This site offers newly installed Fluid Beds, expanded analytical labs, and an advanced open facility design that provides flexibility in supporting the requirements of any new customer program.

The Role

  • Creation and modification of shift specific short-term production schedules.

  • Creation and modification of the Master Schedule.

  • Compile and report out relevant operational readiness and schedule adherence KPI's

  • Oversee the line personnel calculation requirement to support the production schedule.

  • Works with the BU Directors and Supply Chain Director to review and revise rough cut capacity requirements.

  • Participate in all pre-launch activities as they relate to scheduling requirements.

  • Work with Customer Account Managers, Projects Managers to schedule capacity, equipment and line personnel.

  • Identifies and communicates scheduling conflicts to the BU and Supply Chain Director to obtain resolutions.

  • Communicates decisions to the individual teams affected by the schedule changes.

  • Assist in facilitation of daily operations review meeting

  • Maintain all master planning data pertaining to accurate MPS and MRP execution

  • Maintain schedule adherence and stability metrics and liaise with related departments to identify root cause

  • Partner with Customer Service in FC analysis to create the Rough Cut Capacity Plan

The Candidate

  • Bachelor of Science in Operations Management or a related field or

  • 5 Plus years previous Scheduling/Planning or Operations Leadership experience required

  • Previous experience in a discrete manufacturing, job shop environment preferred.

  • A minimum of 2 years previous experience in a pharmaceutical environment preferred.

  • APICS Certification a plus.

  • Working knowledge of MRP

  • Working knowledge of Finite Planning techniques or systems a plus
