Responsible for the integration of sales forecast information, manufacturing capacity and vendor capability into a master (manufacturing) production schedule that strives to meet customers current and future delivery requirements while maintaining prudent inventory levels in support of working capital goals.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintain the master production schedule (MPS) based on forecast, backlog, manufacturing capability, vendor capability

  • Lead new program scheduling meetings to establish a baseline for the MPS; de-risk (safety stock, shrink factor, excess), production run rates, product mix, lead times

  • Lead the end of life process as programs approach completion. Manage the system to minimize material obsolescence

  • Maintain system planning factors in support of the MPS - program goals - lead times, safety stocks, MPS levels

  • Support the revenue planning process

  • Provide delivery quotes as requested by sales

  • Update the MPS as required to reflect best data available. Communicate delivery changes to Customer

  • Monitor the MRP run and assist with the resolution of errors

  • Communicate significant shifts in demand to the rest of the organization to ensure proper urgency is applied throughout the organization

  • Provide training to production planners on the ERP system and support tools

  • Lead continuous improvement activities for the scheduling and planning group including system enhancements

  • Perform all other related duties as assigned

Required Skills

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong organizational skills and detail oriented

  • Strong analytical skills - data acquisition and analysis

  • Strong computer skills, specifically Excel

  • Exceptional interpersonal skills

  • Excellent understanding of MRP and ERP processes

  • ERP system implementation experience a plus
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment

  • Solid understanding of the project development life cycle - prototype, low rate mfg., high volume, and end of life

Required Experience

Education: Bachelor Degree

  • Business or Engineering.

Experience: 3-5 Years relevant experience in a manufacturing and planning environment demonstrating increasing levels of responsibility. Experience working in a lean manufacturing / continuous improvement manufacturing environment

  • Black Belt certification preferred. Ability to lead C.I. Projects.
