Summary

The MRP (Master Requirements Planning) Controller position requires an in-depth understanding of the CMMS Systems (LLumin). The role is responsible for initiating purchase orders based on business requirements, requests, and inventory levels. Monitors vendor pricing and availability. Expedites delayed orders. Responsible for inventory organization and accuracy. Resolves issues related to inventory returns and replacements. Responsible for receiving incoming parts shipments. This role will support all policies, goals, and objectives of the company, and will represent the company in a knowledgeable and professional manner. Responsibilities & Experience

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Plant Operations

Purchasing and Inventory Maintenance activities:

  • Responsible for entering /updating data in the CMMS database.

  • Identify vendor resources and delivery capabilities for parts and materials.

  • Manage inventory levels and accuracy to include performing quarterly cycle counts.

  • Maintain inventory organization to include kanbans, safety stock levels, critical spares, and bar coding/tracking systems. Forecast the trends in product consumption to provide the needed number of stocks and its turnover.

  • Develop and maintain parts inventory SOP's

  • Provide daily procurement support of parts and supplies for maintenance and production customers where applicable.

  • Maintain high level of service and work performance. Support and promote a positive and cooperative team environment which fosters creative problem solving and shared learning.

Maintenance Support activities:

  • Perform general maintenance administrative activities as needed.

  • Will support shutdown/TA activities where working outside normal hours will be necessary.

  • They work with the Engineering department to make sure that technical specifications of the stocks are correct.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Flexibility to adapt to changing environments.

Environmental, Health & Safety

  • Participate in all health, safety, and environmental programs; maintain self-awareness on safety issues and requirements and report any safety concerns immediately to the EH&S department, Responsible for notifying management team of environmental, quality and production concerns, problems, and opportunities,
  • Perform all tasks associated with Feed Safety/Quality, assigned, or as needed, to meet internal and external requirements relating to the production of safe, quality feed products.

Other required activities

  • Maintain supplier data base with vendor data and best sources for pricing and/or delivery,

  • Assist with resolving invoicing issues with Accounts Payable when appropriate,

  • Recognize, develop, and implement opportunities for cost and risk reduction; improved methods, identifying adverse trends, etc.

  • Adheres to all applicable procedures, company policies and any other quality or regulatory requirements,

Education and Pertinent/Proven Experience

The minimum requirements for education and experience are listed below. Consideration will be given to individuals with an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Education and Experience: Requires a high school diploma with a minimum of 3-5 years of related experience in maintenance/parts inventory environment.

Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual must have expertise and proficiency with spreadsheet software and basic knowledge of word processing software plus experience both researching issues and accessing information on the Internet. Experience with CMMS system is a plus.

Communications: Strong written and verbal presentation capabilities, with the ability to communicate effectively with vendors, customer, clients, and plant personnel.

Organizational Skills: High level skill and experience to establish and maintain inventory and maintenance tracking systems that exceed expectations of management and regulatory agencies.

Work Environment / Physical Requirements

This position operates in a process plant environment with strict safety, regulatory and conduct standards. The individual may be exposed to noise, heat, and other elements in outdoor and indoor environments. While performing duties of this position, the individual may be exposed to moving, mechanical parts, dusty conditions, high noise levels and chemicals. Specific physical requirements include:

  • Occasionally lifting weight up to 50#,
  • Climbing several flights of stairs and ladders,
  • Bending, twisting, and turning while lifting weights up to 50#,
  • Sitting at a desk for extended periods of time,
  • Standing for extended periods of time.
