Our facility in Huntsville, AL has an immediate need for a mid-career career Program Planner to perform program planning for our Targets and Countermeasures Program (TCP), which provides unarmed targets designed to represent adversary missiles to enable realistic testing of U.S. national defense systems. As the Master Program Planner for TCP, you will support the execution efforts with major subcontractors and other Strategic Missile Defense (SMD) programs as required. You will interface with Engineering, Business Operations, and Program Management and will brief senior management, the Strategic Missile Defense program planning management and the customer as required. Additionally, you will be responsible for developing a compliant Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) which will reflect accurate and detailed contractual scope and resources to execute the program. Other responsibilities in this Master Program Planner role will include:

  1. Support development and maintenance the program Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) including ensuring integration between the IMS and the Integrated Master Plan (IMP)
  2. Maintain schedule integration between the IMS and the Program Summary Master Schedule and supplemental schedules
  3. Perform critical path and schedule risk analyses as required
  4. Provide planning support to CAMs as part of monthly F&BO earned value management rhythms. Ensure EVMS/IMS Integration
  5. Perform schedule integrity checks as required
  6. Generate and deliver IMS reports and metrics as required
  7. Present schedule related information to internal and external customers
  8. Ensure compliance with LM Corporate Program

Basic Qualifications

  • 8-10 years of professional experience with a Bachelors degree

  • 3-6 years of program planning experience

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Project or a scheduling tool

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective internal relationships

  • Ability to perform typical schedule integrity checks and critical path analysis

  • Experience with internal and external audits and review

  • Experience working new contractual awards as a program planner

  • Must be a United States citizen

  • Ability to obtain an Interim Secret security clearance prior to beginning employment

Candidate should possess extensive experience with Planning and scheduling and have demonstrated the ability to work effectively in a leadership role. Candidate will provide direct support to the Program Manager for the execution of current and future business goals, contract execution on multiple contracts, customer objectives and formulation of new business strategies. Determines customer requirements and translates these into organizational plans which include the development of SOWs, WBS, IMP, IMS, Risk Assessments, Schedule Metric generation and reporting, and all activities related to execution of the Program. The candidate will have a high level overview of the Program and will proactively address schedule conflicts and plan execution. Basic Qualifications * Interim Secret Clearance required prior to starting; with ability to obtain Secret Clearance * Experience using Open Plan scheduling tool preferred but not required; Experience with similar planning tools such as MS Project, Primavera, Artemis required * Extensive experience with Planning and scheduling and demonstrated the ability to work effectively in a leadership role. * Extensive knowledge of developing & maintaining Integrated Master Plans (IMP) & Integrated Master Schedules (IMS) * Ability to consolidate detailed schedule data into management level reporting. * Earned Value Management (EVMS). * Schedule Metrics generation & reporting. * Ability to prepare and present various types of reports to all levels of Management. * Strong Organizational skills and attention to detail. * Ability to apply organizational, planning, management, problem solving & execution skills to multiple projects simultaneously.
