Description
The City of Richmond Department of Parks Recreation and Community Facilities is seeking highly qualified candidate to fill the position of Master Plumber in the Facilities and Maintenance Operations Division. The incumbent is responsible for installing, repairing, replacing, and maintaining all plumbing fixtures, facilities, and equipment within the department. This includes, but is not limited to, all pools, public fountains, drinking fountains, and restroom facilities.
Duties include but are not limited to
pumps, filtration systems and equipment according to plumbing codes, regulations and/or
ordinances
power tools or machines such as pipe cutters, pipe-threading and bending machines
procedures
and equipment problems
Qualifications, Special Certifications and Licenses
Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge Skills & Abilities or some combination of the following:
Knowledge of plumbing codes, regulations, ordinances and rules for skilled trades. Knowledge of proper applications for completing work competently, thoroughly and efficiently.
Effective oral and written communication skills.
Ability in operating, maintaining and repairing pumps.
Ability to safely operate power tools, grinders, pipe threading machines and sewer cleaning machines.
Minimum Training and Experience:
High school diploma or GED
Four (4) Years of journey level plumbing experience
An equivalent combination of training and experience (as approved by the department) may be used to meet the minimum qualifications of the classification
Licensing Certifications and Other Special Requirements:
Current Plumber Certification
Current and valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record and a valid Commonwealth of Virginia driver's license within 30 days of hire
