Master Planner - Transformers

We are seeking an experienced Master Planner with a strong background in transformers to oversee and coordinate the master planning activities across all areas of our organization. The Master Planner will be responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive production plans, ensuring optimal utilization of resources, and meeting customer demands. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in production planning, a deep understanding of transformer manufacturing processes, and excellent analytical skills

A Snapshot of Your Day

  • Review the previous day's production performance and identify any issues.

  • Conduct a meeting with production, procurement, engineering, and sales teams to align on the day's priorities and address any concerns.

  • Update the master production schedule based on the latest demand and supply information.

  • Analyze demand forecasts and adjust planning parameters as needed.

  • Coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials and components.

  • Conduct a capacity planning analysis to identify potential bottlenecks and develop mitigation strategies.

  • Review and adjust inventory levels to balance carrying costs and production needs.

  • Define and communicate deadlines for Manufacturing, Engineering, and SCM.

  • Prepare and present a report on production performance and capacity utilization to senior management.

  • Work on continuous improvement initiatives to enhance production efficiency and resource utilization.

  • Reflect on the day's activities and update the master plan accordingly.

  • Communicate any changes or updates to the relevant departments.

  • Plan for the next day's activities and ensure all resources are aligned with the master schedule.

How You'll Make an Impact

  • Develop and maintain the master production schedule to meet customer demands and inventory targets.

  • Coordinate with various departments (e.g., production, procurement, sales) to ensure alignment with the master plan.

  • Supervise and adjust the master schedule based on changes in demand, supply chain disruptions, and production capacity.

  • Ensure optimal utilization of resources, including labor, equipment, and materials.

  • Identify bottlenecks and implement solutions to improve production efficiency.

  • Balance production load across multiple facilities and shifts.

  • Analyze market trends, sales forecasts, and historical data to develop accurate demand forecasts.

  • Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to understand customer requirements and market dynamics.

  • Adjust planning parameters based on demand variability and forecast accuracy.

  • Work closely with procurement and supply chain teams to ensure timely availability of materials and components.

  • Lead inventory levels to minimize carrying costs while ensuring sufficient stock to meet production needs.

  • Coordinate with suppliers to address any supply chain issues or delays.

  • Coordinate with department heads to ensure all teams are aligned with project timelines.

  • Supervise progress and adjust deadlines as vital to address any delays or changes in project scope.

  • Generate regular reports on production performance, capacity utilization, and inventory levels. Analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify areas for improvement. Present findings and recommendations to senior management.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.

  • 5+ years of experience in production planning and master scheduling, with a focus on transformers.

  • Strong understanding of transformer manufacturing processes and supply chain dynamics.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Proficiency in production planning software and tools (e.g., ERP systems).

  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

  • Travel: Occasional travel may be required for training purposes. Work Environment: This position may require occasional work outside of normal business hours to meet training schedules.
