Working under the Engineering group, the Mechanic role will perform a variety of duties related to the maintenance, repair, and upkeep of the Packaging facility equipment. This may include troubleshooting and repairing machinery, supporting TPM-related activities, and ensuring safe and efficient utilization of Packaging equipment.
Implement preventive maintenance tasks as needed on various pieces of equipment
Perform troubleshooting and corrective maintenance activities on equipment as needed
Repair and/or replace defective or worn shafts, bearings, sprockets, rollers, drive chains, and worn belts
Work collaboratively with external vendors to complete tasks or major PMs
Maintain proper records of all inventories and spare parts
Support and assist in the training of Packaging associates on the safe and proper use of the packaging equipment
Any other duties as assigned
HS Diploma or GED required
Must have at least five (5) years of experience in mechanic/machinist field with experience in a high-speed manufacturing and/or packaging environment
Strong interpersonal skills to collaboratively work with BIC team members in order to provide production and maintenance support
Preferred background in mechanical fabrication
Strong work ethic, sense of urgency, and desire to deliver results
Proficient in use of Microsoft Office software, including Word and Excel
Knowledge of logistics automation (scanning equipment, RF systems)
PLC control logic experience desired
Strong oral and written communication skills; bilingual preferred
Availability to work overtime, weekends, and holidays, as needed
Working knowledge of electrical, hydraulics, pneumatics, and building maintenance
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
