JOB SUMMARY

Working under the Engineering group, the Mechanic role will perform a variety of duties related to the maintenance, repair, and upkeep of the Packaging facility equipment. This may include troubleshooting and repairing machinery, supporting TPM-related activities, and ensuring safe and efficient utilization of Packaging equipment.

  • Implement preventive maintenance tasks as needed on various pieces of equipment

  • Perform troubleshooting and corrective maintenance activities on equipment as needed

  • Repair and/or replace defective or worn shafts, bearings, sprockets, rollers, drive chains, and worn belts

  • Work collaboratively with external vendors to complete tasks or major PMs

  • Maintain proper records of all inventories and spare parts

  • Support and assist in the training of Packaging associates on the safe and proper use of the packaging equipment

  • Any other duties as assigned

  • HS Diploma or GED required

  • Must have at least five (5) years of experience in mechanic/machinist field with experience in a high-speed manufacturing and/or packaging environment

  • Strong interpersonal skills to collaboratively work with BIC team members in order to provide production and maintenance support

  • Preferred background in mechanical fabrication

  • Strong work ethic, sense of urgency, and desire to deliver results

  • Proficient in use of Microsoft Office software, including Word and Excel

  • Knowledge of logistics automation (scanning equipment, RF systems)

  • PLC control logic experience desired

  • Strong oral and written communication skills; bilingual preferred

  • Availability to work overtime, weekends, and holidays, as needed

  • Working knowledge of electrical, hydraulics, pneumatics, and building maintenance

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
