The Master Data Management Lead is part of the Global Sales Excellence team, with team members in multiple global locations. The team is supporting Johnson Controls' Fire Suppression Products (FSP) Business Unit.

FSP is a manufacturer of fire suppression products that are used to either automatically or manually suppress fires. For this purpose, our product range covers: Sprinklers (systems), Engineered (gaseous) Fire Suppression Systems, and Pre-engineered Fire Suppression Systems such as Kitchen and Vehicle Systems. Besides that, our product range also covers Portable fire extinguishers and Foam Systems/Agents. Our products protect millions of people and their properties around the world. Some of our well-known brands are: Tyco and Ansul.

Introduction

For JCI, data is an asset which has an increasing business value and which we need to protect and properly manage. Therefore, managing our data assets (quality, definitions, owners, change control, etc.) becomes increasingly important, including defining and maintaining data models. To further develop and implement our business unit's capabilities to manage our data effectively, such as Data Governance, Master/Reference/Meta data management, Data Quality Management, we are hiring a Master Data Management Lead. NOTE: This position can be remote in any location throughout the US, preferably in the Central or Eastern time zones.

What you will do

The Master Data Management Lead will establish trust in data by establishing and operationalizing an aligned master data management strategy for JCI Fire Suppression Products and will drive execution by eliminating business silos, establishing standards and uniform processes for data governance, and implementing measures to manage the quality of our data. This individual will work closely with the business to understand business process gaps due to master data and will develop cross-functional alignment to define data models, standardize data sets and sources, and govern master data and their respective attributes.

How you will do it

  • Define and own a master data management strategy for JCI Fire Suppression products that seamlessly integrates and aligns to the Global Products Strategy and the current and future technology.

  • Establish and implement data management capabilities and best practices aligned with the business, Digital Transformation, and Data & Analytics goals and priorities

  • Establish consistent metrics to measure quality of data and implemented solutions

  • Understand the technology landscape of all transactional and sales and marketing systems

  • Lead and own the relationship with software vendor(s) and MSPs supporting MDM initiatives

  • Partner with vendors and x-functional teams to design and architect master data management solution(s) with other applications and warehouse/lake

  • Contribute to our roadmaps for data / information management

  • Define and own relevant data management principles and policies

  • Contribute to critical business decisions including data models, data acquisitions, data retention policies, and defining data life cycle policies

  • Leverage effective relationship building among stakeholders to understand the data needs, data dependencies, and identify opportunities for business process standardization and improvement

  • Identify risks and drive continuous improvements in data management through technological innovation, operational improvement, and championing adoption

What we look for

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Management, (Technical) Business Administration, or similar degree program

  • 10+ years working experience in related data discipline.

  • Deep understanding of master data management, data governance, and associated technologies.

  • Proven experience in establishing and operationalizing data management capabilities (not only maintaining)

  • Experience with SAP (S/4HANA) MDM/MDG and/or In River PMM is highly desired.

  • Experience in a leadership role in a multi-year business transformation program is a plus

  • in-depth understanding of all aspects of data and information.

  • Advanced knowledge of Excel

What you will do The Senior Business Development Manager is responsible for identifying, validating, and converting longer term business development growth opportunities that support JCI's Special Hazards and Water-based Fire Suppression products businesses in the North American region. This senior leader is expected to develop strong end-user, engineering, and fire business influencer relationships at senior levels to drive proprietary or preferred specification status for fire protection products and systems and work seamlessly with the sales leaders in the region to ensure the Business Development work translates into actual sales. This leader is heading and further developing a team of Business Development Managers in the US and Canada who are respected knowledge leaders in the fire protection industry. Some of the direct reports to this position have a specific regional market alignment and others have a more technical or market segment-oriented responsibility. How you will do it * Work with sales and segment leadership to develop aligned annual Business Development targets supporting our Water-Mechanical, Special Hazards, and Detection businesses. * Work with sales and segment leadership to develop aligned Market Segment plans for specific target verticals such as Oil and Gas, Mining, and Power. * Work with product management and provide input to new product development processes as well as to plan for and execute on early-stage promotion and specification work for any new -innovative- product that has been identified to require such support. * Work closely with the regional Sales teams to ensure longer term specification work ultimately results in profitable sales for JCI and its channel partners. * Work with the regional team of Business Development Managers to help them build rapport and drive specification enhancements at the owner, consultant, and risk purveyor level as well as those related to identified key-projects and innovative new solutions. * Monitor size of pipeline, specification status, and progression to ensure optimal conversion of business development efforts into actual sales. * Conduct regular business performance reviews with the business development teams and participate in progress meetings with the regional sales leadership. * Work with the Regional Sales Leaders to develop seamless business development and sales processes and associated metrics, supported by SalesForce.com. * Develop the regional business development organization to ensure continuing high and engaged performance. * Work closely with segment marketing teams on developing effective approaches and selecting appropriate participants and speakers for industry events and seminars.
