Master Data Engineer

As a Capital One Data Engineer, you'll have the opportunity to be on the forefront of driving a major transformation within Capital One.

What You'll Do:

Collaborate with and across Agile teams to design, develop, test, implement, and support technical solutions in full-stack development tools and technologies

Work with a team of developers with deep experience in machine learning, distributed microservices, and full stack systems

Utilize programming languages like Java, Scala, Python and Open Source RDBMS and NoSQL databases and Cloud based data warehousing services such as Redshift and Snowflake

Share your passion for staying on top of tech trends, experimenting with and learning new technologies, participating in internal & external technology communities, and mentoring other members of the engineering community

Collaborate with digital product managers, and deliver robust cloud-based solutions that drive powerful experiences to help millions of Americans achieve financial empowerment

Perform unit tests and conduct reviews with other team members to make sure your code is rigorously designed, elegantly coded, and effectively tuned for performance

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree

At least 6 years of experience in application development

At least 2 years of experience in big data technologies

At least 1 year experience with cloud computing (AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud)

Preferred Qualifications:

7+ years of experience in application development including Python, SQL, Scala, or Java

4+ years of experience with a public cloud (AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud)

4+ years experience with Distributed data or computing tools (MapReduce, Hadoop, Hive, EMR, Kafka, Spark, Gurobi, or MySQL)

4+ year experience working on real-time data and streaming applications

4+ years of experience with NoSQL implementation (Mongo, Cassandra)

4+ years of data warehousing experience (Redshift or Snowflake)

4+ years of experience with UNIX Linux including basic commands and shell scripting

2+ years of experience with Agile engineering practices

This transformation includes a global implementation of Salesforce CRM and complete redesign of our website based on the latest version of Hybris. We are currently seeking a Master Data Analyst to load, analyze and ensure accuracy of pricing data for our products. This is a highly visible position, working with many areas of the corporation. Responsibilities * Monitor and review pricing master data for accuracy * Identify and resolve issues related to pricing * Oversee contract management and contractual pricing for Worldwide Top Customers, Strategic Alliance Contractual, Worldwide Local and Prospective Contract accounts, and state, university and government accounts * Review Quarterly Audit results for Contractual Accounts and develop action plans to resolve issues * Review and approve eCatalogs for eBusiness customers * Initiate and execute annual price increase process * Monitoring of Pricing Management Processes: * Update Work Instructions * Investigate changes to streamline the Pricing Management processes when necessary * Be personally involved on an active basis, and keep other cross-functional team members fully informed of issues concerning the various programs. Qualifications * Bachelors Degree in business or related field or 4-8 years of experience in similar position required. * Advanced knowledge of primary system tools, including but not limited to SAP/CRM, Compass (Salesforce), Microsoft Office Suite. Lotus Notes database experience a plus. Advanced knowledge of Excel or similar tool strongly preferred. * Experience with data quality analysis. * Solid understanding of global business and related processes, with a special focus on the Sales and Marketing areas. * Strong critical thinking, problem solving and data analysis skills. * Flexibility to respond to unanticipated situations, able to manage multiple demands and establish priorities, particularly under a deadline. * Excellent analytical skills and demonstrated ability to effectively troubleshoot and provide master data strategies and solutions. * Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate and effectively engage with individuals at all levels within the organization.
