Position Overview

The Master Auto Body Technician is accountable for the administration, development, coordination, and mentoring of the team members.

Who Would I Interact With?This position interacts daily with Customers, Service Advisors, Technicians, Parts Associates, Service Managers, Collision Managers and other store Associates, just to name a few.

What are the day-to-day responsibilities?

  • Develops and implements training techniques

  • Organizes the team for a productive outputs

  • Operates in a manner that reflects industry leadership

  • Schedules all vehicle repair

  • Critiques workmanship of team members

  • Assists with any problems associated with painting of a vehicle

What are the requirements for this job?

  • High School diploma or equivalent

  • Must have a valid driver's license

  • Four to Five years experienced (preferred)

  • Must posses excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Must be able to operate a motor vehicle

  • Must be able to work in an environment that is dusty and where various chemical compounds and paint is used

Body Paint Technician II will perform skilled and complicated body work on heavy duty truck equipment and related components with supervision. They will perform troubleshooting on major problems and work closely with and assist Body Paint Tech III. #INDtech Requirements * High School diploma or equivalent * Vocational or Technical Certification in related field preferred * Two (2) years or more experience in truck and trailer paint and body work * Safety Sensitive Position ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: * Ability to understand and communicate effectively, work shift work/weekend as required, perform all entry level tasks, and demonstrate mechanical aptitude * Knowledge of and the ability to apply knowledge of computers * Some experience in transportation maintenance preferred * Pass a Ryder Drug Test * Pass a Ryder Background Important Note: Additional requirements may be required in different locations and/or accounts. Responsibilities * Inspects equipment, structures, or materials to identify the cause of errors or other problems or defects * Remove rust and other debris from surfaces to be painted, fill cavities and dents in vehicles to create an even surface, mask and prep vehicle surfaces * Mix paints to match color specifications or vehicles' original colors, stirring or thinning paints, using spatulas or power mixing equipment * Disassemble, clean, and reassemble sprayers or power equipment, using solvents, wire brushes, and cloths * Performs other duties as assigned Ryder is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer and Drug Free workplace.
