Job Description
Summary
The Massage Therapist is responsible for administering therapeutic and professional massage treatments. To provide a positive experience for our member and guest, exceeding expectations by providing a level of personalized service in a class setting.

Essential Job Functions
Listens to and evaluates the client to discover their needs
Performs a professional and therapeutic massage based on clients' needs (60-120-minute treatments)
Provides the proper information for payment received for massage
Maintains proper upkeep of massage rooms
Follow suggested AMTA code of ethics for Massage Therapists
Stays current on new therapies and treatments
Additional duties/responsibilities as assigned by your supervisors.
Take a detailed client history and note any health conditions
Evaluate clients to determine painful or stressed areas of the body
Advise clients on stretching, strengthening or relaxation methods
Suggest future massage appointments and regime to clients
Listen to clients during appointments and adjust technique as they desire
Qualifications
Completed 500 hours of massage therapy courses
Must hold current massage therapy certification
At least four years of experience as a professional massage therapist
Experience working in a spa preferred
Strong interpersonal communication skills
Time management abilities
Demonstrated sales and customer service skills
Additional Information
Supervision Given and Received
Given: This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Received: Works under direct supervision of the Spa Supervisor. Tasks are assigned according to specific procedures, and work is checked frequently. Instruction, advice and assistance are readily available.
Work Environment and Physical Demands
Ability to stand or be on your feet for extended periods of time. Kneeling, bending, crouching, squeezing and kneading muscles for hours at a time and executing repetitive movements.
No adverse or hazardous conditions
Must be able to constantly lift, push or pull up to 50 lbs. individually or with assistance
