Mashpee Wampanoag Tribe AmeriCorps
Member Duties : The AmeriCorps members will be responsible for the activities of cutting and delivering wood to elders and the vulnerable, shoveling, de-ice of walkways of Elders and vulnerable members, storm preparation and storm cleanup, delivery of generators, Volunteering within the Departments in our Tribal Government Operations. Fundraising projects, team building projects including camping.
Travel to DHS Training school in Alabama, FEMA Incident Command training, Chainsaw training, Wild land Firefighter Training, Various Red Cross Trainings, Drone Training. Wildfire mitigation at Tribal properties, Hurricane preparedness at Elders and vulnerable houses and Various Local Projects around the community including; Community garden project, trail remediation, cultural projects, river restoration, community cleanup and storm debris clearing. Visits to colleges and schools. Potential travel to FEMA deployments.
