The new SpringHill Suites Charlotte at Carowinds is looking for an experienced, self-motivated and strategic sales leader who is ready to accept the challenge of opening a brand new property adjacent to the premier entertainment destination in the Carolinas. As the hotel sales leader, you will be utilizing your sales skills to help companies, organizations, families and associations plan successful visits and overnight stays to the area. By building an annual sales and marketing plan and directly soliciting business, you'll achieve established sales goals that will contribute to the overall success of the property.
4 year degree or equivalent experience in sales, hospitality, or business.
Minimum of 4 years of firsthand Hospitality sales experience in a branded hotel environment or educational equivalent
Experience with new property openings preferred
Possess a valid Driver's License
Passionate about understanding and creating an exceptional guest and associate experience like no other
Ability to work nights, weekends, and holiday periods to meet business needs
Ability to pass a mandatory (or random) drug test, per Company policy, unless prohibited by state or provincial law
Ability to pass a background check, if 18 years of age or older, which may include, but is not limited to, credit, criminal, DMV, previous employment, education and personal references, per Company policy, unless prohibited by federal, state, or provincial law
Managing and Sustaining Sales and Marketing Strategy
Responsible for all account activity from discovery, research, lead generation, presentation, closing and servicing
Solicit directly to local businesses and organizations through cold calling and in-person visits as well as communicating to existing Carowinds clients to generate overnight business
Serve as key community contact for property and participate in local and regional tourism, travel and chamber of commerce events to ensure property is well-represented
Works closely with Carowinds sales team to facilitate requests and develop new business through shared contacts
Works with the above property sales leader and regional/market sales to implement sales strategy for the property (e.g., goal setting, setting rates, etc.) and that all relevant local/regional/national programs are pulled-through
Serves as on property sales contact and conducts tours and property visits
Maintains active and ongoing relationships with organizational decision makers
Develops innovative means for capturing new streams of revenue through property amenities
Interacts with in-house guests to prospect for new sources of business.
Participates in and host customer recognition events to drive sales.
Understands and leverage sales and marketing advantages over competitor properties within market by monitoring business coming into the area
Managing Relationships with Property Stakeholders
Keeps hotel GM, park sales and marketing leadership and above property stakeholders updated on performance, pace and forecasts
Serves as the primary communication channel between park sales/marketing and property
Prepares and presents reports for above property leadership using financial/performance data
Participates in ad hoc above property stakeholder conference calls and respond appropriately to requests
