We have an immediate opening for a Marketing Web Design Lead to be based in New York City, Washington, D.C., or Durham, NC.

The Marketing Web Design Lead will join our digital marketing team and will work directly with the rest of the marketing department, including digital marketing experts, web developers, graphic designers, project managers, and copy writers.

Our ideal candidate should have a strong interest in marketing to complement his/her technical know-how, and the ability to bring creative ideas to the table. This is NOT simply a "coding robot" job. Yes, there will be maintenance work with high urgency, but you will also play a vital role in designing and building new marketing assets for the web. There are plenty of opportunities to bring new, fresh, creative ideas to the table. We want someone who has a voice and wants to be heard.

Responsibilities:

  • Work as the primary executor for the digital marketing team to bring their web priorities to life: design and build landing pages, websites, ads, and other marketing assets.

  • Develop web forms and landing pages for information harvesting as well as marketing activities (both user interface and backend)

  • Improve/iterate on designs based on analytics to maximize performance

  • Create HTML emails, post blog updates, and initiate other interactive online marketing/advertising strategies

  • Build new websites and landing pages adhering to creative briefs and project requirements

Qualifications:

  • Must have the ability to write code cleanly and be able to work from existing code and frameworks

  • Must have a strong command of the English language, to reliably implement text edits and identify and fix errors

  • Must be able to work independently and as part of a team for large projects

  • Must possess excellent communication, time management, and organizational skills and be able to excel in a time-critical environment

  • Must have a solid understanding of web design, navigation, usability best practices, and SEO best practices

Technical Requirements:

  • Knowledge of web development tools such as Dreamweaver and Photoshop

  • Experience and understanding of scripting and markup languages such as HTML, HTML5, CSS, Java, PHP

  • Experience with Drupal and/or WordPress theming a plus

  • Genuine interest in web development in a marketing environment

  • Self-starter, independent worker, and willingness to learn

  • Bachelors Degree
