About This Position

Marketing Strategists are vital to Madwires mission because they are responsible for communicating directly with their clients to develop and facilitate digital marketing strategy focused on trackable progress toward each clients individual business goals. Communication is key as a Marketing Executive, as they become an integral part of their clients business, building long-term relationships by developing trust and demonstrating results. This role is 75% percent sales & project management, and 25% marketing and business strategy consulting. You are the quarterback for the 40-60 businesses that you work with and are expected to grow your book of business, retain accounts, and execute marketing on behalf of your book of business.

Additionally, while our team of experts will handle implementation of specific pieces of the strategic puzzle, the Marketing Executive must work with these internal Madwire teams to ensure a cohesive approach toward the overall strategy.

The key to success in this position is a combination of communication skills, organization, Marketing knowledge accumulation and experience (Knowledge + Experience = Confidence).

Our offices are located in Fort Collins, CO, and Austin, TX. This position can be in-office, remote* (in approved states), or a hybrid of the two.

What Youll Do

  • You will communicate frequently and effectively with both clients and teammates while balancing your daily workflow.
  • You will organize, communicate, and facilitate digital marketing strategy for each of your clients. This typically includes elements such as SEO, PPC, CRM, email marketing, video advertising, and more.
  • You will analyze marketing data to modify strategy when necessary while communicating changes to both clients and internal teams.
  • You will help clients execute best practices to maximize results from digital marketing strategy; this often includes elements of education and sales.
  • You will use platforms like Marketing 360, Google Ads, Google Analytics, Google Search Console, Bing Ads, Facebook, YouTube, LinkedIn, WordPress, Shopify, and more to effectively implement digital marketing strategies.

How Youll Make Money

Marketing Strategists earn a starting salary of $30,000 per year. Upon taking accounts they begin to earn commission. On average, new Marketing Executives pace $60,000 in their first year. That being said, the first three months are grueling and require both patience and foresight. It takes three months of actively training and building your book of business to ramp up. This timeline can be difficult for people to cope with and can cause unnecessary pressure if you are underprepared or overzealous.

What are the opportunities for growth?

There are several opportunities for growth at Madwire.

  1. When it comes to our Marketing Strategists books, Madwire does not cap the financial opportunity. Assuming satisfactory performance is exhibited, Marketing Strategists are given a lot of independence to continue to take on new accounts. Growing their book of business essentially gives themselves a raise! Madwire also encourages Marketing Strategists to grow their books by growing their existing clients' accounts, which typically takes less overall work than onboarding brand new clients.
  2. Marketing Strategists who have been with the company for an extended period of time, who consistently demonstrate leadership on their teams and maintain high levels of performance can earn the opportunity to apply for the Senior Marketing Strategist position. This is a position in which individuals are expected to continue leading by example while encouraging and facilitating team performance.
  3. When new teams are built (based on company growth) high performing leaders may also become eligible to apply for a Director of Marketing position. This is a management position in which Directors provide ongoing education and support for team members while driving their team to hit both team and company goals.

How are the teams structured?

Marketing teams are led by a Director of Marketing (the manager), with direct support from at least one Senior Marketing Director (a tenured team captain on the team).
Marketing teams also consistently work with members of the following departments: Marketing Strategists, Project Managers, SEO Experts, Technical PPC Specialists, Social Media Managers, Platform Advisors, Reputation Managers, and Creative Designers.

What else makes the position notable?

Our hours are 7-4pm Monday through Friday. There is no travel, no weekend work, and accounts are assigned to you. We invest heavily in advertising and marketing to generate accounts and the same strategies you are using for customers are what we use to drive new business for ourselves.
