Description

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a Marketing Specialist to support the department's objectives.

  • Supports the Manager in the creation of assigned marketing plans.

  • Stays informed on current and emerging trends in overall marketing communications.

  • Understands the business and marketing needs of their assigned clients.

  • Defines objectives, strategies, tactics and performance metrics (including campaigns and development of new tactics where applicable).

  • Creates the 12-month tactical calendar and budget necessary to deliver the plan. Adapts the plan to budgetary changes as necessary.

  • Obtains the necessary plan approvals.Works with client partners to determine who is the key point person for each element in the plan.

  • Delivers all elements of the plan for all assigned clients/areas.

  • Supports the Manager in the overall client relationship.

  • Holds monthly or quarterly plan reviews (as appropriate) with client partners to discuss changes in objectives, strategies and/or tactics.

  • Makes trade-offs or adjustments accordingly with approval from the Manager. Understands the latest in patient communication vehicles, as well as patient preferences in receiving information from a healthcare provider.

  • Keeps abreast of communication tactics, plans and key messages utilized by other healthcare systems.

  • Utilizes excellent project management capabilities.

  • Creates timelines for each campaign/tactic in the marketing plan and manages them to ensure delivery.

  • Presents marketing materials, as appropriate, to client partner for feedback, input and approvals.

  • Proofs all materials and obtains appropriate approvals (senior management, legal/risk, other).

  • Manages agreed upon budget including invoicing as appropriate and paying agency bills.

  • Utilize project management software to manage programs.

  • Monitors the effectiveness of marketing tactics through various reports and dashboards.

  • Provides information to NM departments and divisions regarding updates to marketing tactics.

  • Other duties as assigned. AA/EOE

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelors degree in related field and or two to five years of marketing experience.

  • Minimum 2-7 years of experience in program development, marketing, and project management.

  • Agency or client-side marketing experience required.

  • Excellent project management and organizational skills with strong attention to detail.

  • Must have exceptional interpersonal skills with a strong customer service orientation.

  • Highly motivated and proactive, with a can do attitude.

  • Proven experience working in a team-oriented environment.

Desired:

  • Understanding of healthcare industry and academic medical centers preferred.

  • Undergraduate Degree in Marketing or related field required.

  • Master's degree preferred.

This role will execute and drive the winning proposition to achieve key market goals - seeking to match proposition to customer segments, defining and driving the 'what' of what say and do for customers based upon their job roles and business environments. Principal Responsibilities: * Creation, management and/or deployment of regional campaigns across both offline and online channels. Close collaboration with global marketing teams. * Track, report and provide insight as the effectiveness of all campaigns and activities whether from internal or external channels. Apply insights to future campaigns. * Support the CLM and email marketing functions ensuring that content is on target for the assigned North American market segments as assigned. * Develop propositional material and where required, sales collateral to support key requirements, specific to customer groups and environments. * Responsibility for the media planning for the assignment region and activities requiring external media buys - optimizing the return on investment, and the placements available within the relevant media. * Integration with all applicable indirect teams with region to deliver integrated multi-channel campaigns and understand the customer activity, awareness and impact within region. * Management of allocated budget and responsibility for local market sales, web and ACB targets including budget allocation to other internal stakeholders. * Collaborate closely with regional sales teams to ensure clear visibility and engagement in all marketing initiatives and our regional frontline teams are armed with the awareness, tools, and support they need to help drive sales. Competent in all job functions and has general understanding of the industry practices, techniques and standards. * Develops solutions for a variety of situations and works on projects requiring evaluation and analysis. May receive some limited guidance for new assignments.
