Within the Marketing Services team, the Marketing Specialist I is responsible for coordinating the production of sample needs for all brands in support of Dal-Tiles company-owned stores (Galleries/Design Service Centers). Additionally, the Marketing Specialist I will be responsible for assisting with the execution of new product launches and replenishment of stocked samples for Home Center brands. Specifically, the Marketing Specialist I will:

  • Quote projects and obtain approval for the project expenditures from Brand Manager via requisition process. Communicate and receive approval from Brand team for changes to project scope and expenditures before proceeding with production.

  • Keep accurate records of all projects and create/update bill of materials for all Home Center and DSC projects.

  • Develop a working knowledge of products and assist with identifying substitutions for components that are not available for sample production.

  • Complete item set-up forms as needed and ensure accurate set-up by Material Master Data team.

  • Coordinate planning efforts with vendors and manufacturing facilities for assigned projects.

  • Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to prioritize production and ensure on-time delivery of sample needs. Communicate and resolve issues to avoid delays in production.

  • Order and track delivery of components needed to complete sample elements for assigned projects.

  • Participate in cross functional new product meetings, providing updates on sample tool production.

  • Monitor and report progress of projects on a regular basis either through established meetings, reporting, and/or via email updates.

  • Prepare and report sample fulfillment and inventory status on a weekly basis.

  • Track project deliverables and provide direction to sourced vendors and manufacturing facilities.

  • Provide feedback at the end of projects with recommendations on areas of improvement.

  • Ensure all sample tools meet Dal-Tile quality standards.

  • Interact with Brand Marketing, Construction, Transportation, and Sales/Sales Operations teams on all aspects of sample tool deliverables.

  • Perform other related duties as required.

Education & Knowledge:

  • High school diploma required. Bachelors degree or equivalent experience highly preferred.

  • Knowledge of theoretical and practical aspects of project management and proficiency in project management software, SAP, MS Office (Excel, Access and Word).


  • 1 to 2 years of planning/project management experience preferred.


  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

  • Strong project management skills, strong problem-solving skills, and excellent customer service and organization skills required.

  • Ability to handle multiple projects and meet strict deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
