Position Specific Responsibilities

Respond to emails from students and parents with enthusiasm and clarity. Write compelling marketing communications to promote our university and the amazing opportunities we offer. Your words could inspire students to take the leap and enroll. Collaborate to post engaging content on official social media sites. Attend recruiting events, snap great pics, and use those moments to create captivating marketing materials. Your work will showcase the vibrant life and opportunities at our university. Utilize our CRM to generate communications, track follow-ups, and schedule campaigns. You'll be facilitating our seamless communication flow.

Summary of Responsibilities

Develops and implements marketing strategies and solutions to achieve business goals.

Essential Functions

  • Oversees promotional projects, campaigns, events, programs and/or services. May lead staff in the design and implementation of marketing materials.

  • Manages brand identity by implementing print, audio, visual and/or online design standards and providing creative direction for all marketing and advertising efforts.

  • Engages with on and off-campus customers and related departments. Enhances customer base and strengthens the university's image.

  • Conducts market research and analyses to create new or enhance current markets. Develops long- and short-term marketing objectives utilizing analyses to enhance the competitive advantage.

  • May assist with the monitoring, tracking, and management of annual marketing budget.

Requirements

Minimum Education

Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, journalism or related field

Preferred Education Minimum Experience

Three (3) years of experience in marketing, communications or related field

Preferred Experience Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Proficiency with the software used in Adobe Creative Suite (in particular InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Premiere Pro, etc.)

  • Experience with social media management such as Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, etc.

  • Evidence of excellent written and oral communication skills

  • Experience in an recruiting/admissions setting OR one year experience working in higher education

  • Ability to work occasional evening and weekend hours for various student activities and marketing events.

  • Able to work with WSU's student information system and understand the functioning of the admissions-related data forms.
