Starting at $20/hr, depending on experience.

Position Summary: Provides direction for Goodwill Industries of New Mexico's (GINM) marketing and public relation functions. Generates awareness of GINM and enhances its image through the research and development of new and traditional media channels. Implements GINM's online communications and social media strategies, website(s), online and print graphic design projects, and creates a vision for Goodwill's marketing and communications efforts. Supports the implementation of the strategic plan.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Adherence to the attendance and punctuality policies of Goodwill.

  • Exhibit excellent customer service skills as related to your position.

  • Maintain GINM's brand.

  • Develops and implements, in conjunction with the CAO, an annual marketing, social media, and public relations strategy/plan including the measurable goals, tactics and resources necessary to achieve overall desired results.

  • Ensures graphic designs for GINM's print and online collateral materials including but not limited to newsletters, annual reports, advertisements, store signage, brochures, direct mail pieces and flyers are completed and in accordance with brand standards.

  • Oversees GINM's media buys and public relations efforts, in conjunction with the CAO.

  • Manages GINM's website(s).

  • Manages, in collaboration with other departments, project management for new store locations to ensure setup and brand alignment.

  • Researches and recommends for implementation innovative ways to improve GINM's marketing efforts to stay on trend, relevant, and to support retail sales, services and the agency as a whole to meet operating, business and strategic objectives.

  • Implements best practices, strategies and solutions for social media, web-based communication and traditional media outreach.

  • Writes articles for internal and external communications.

  • Participates in day-to-day operations of the department, in conjunction with the CAO, to ensure they are completed effectively and efficiently.

  • Represents Goodwill at community events to enhance public understanding and support of Goodwill's mission and operations.

  • Implements and analyzes measurement tools reflecting department contribution to GINM goals and effective stakeholder engagement.

  • Utilizes web analytics, metrics, search engine optimization (SEO) tools and reporting to create benchmarking reports that inform and improve web initiatives.

  • Completes department reports.

  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending seminars, educational workshops, classes and conferences; reviewing professional publications; establishing networks; participating in professional societies; conferring with representatives of contracting agencies and related organizations.

  • Ensures HIPAA compliance.

  • Responsible for CARF compliance and maintaining standards in areas of responsibility.

  • Implements CARF standards into all programs and follows professional ethics as set in the Code of Conduct/Business Ethics policy.

  • Maintains confidentiality of all privileged information.

  • Performs other incidental and related duties as required and assigned.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of organizational practices, policies and procedures and compliance with same.

  • Knowledge of and compliance with all safety policies and procedures.

  • Knowledge of basic design principles (balance, contrast, direction, proportion, rhythm, unity and emphasis) and elements (color, line, mass, movement, space, texture and value).

  • Skill in programming using multimedia software applications.

  • Skill in web development using software applications such as Weebly.

  • Skill in graphical design using software applications such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator etc).

  • Skill for developing and understanding marketing and communications strategy using a variety of mediums.

  • Skill in utilizing and managing social media.

  • Ability to understand multiple audiences and develop focused content.

  • Ability to exhibit excellent customer service skills.

  • Ability to read, write and understand English.

  • Ability to carry out instructions in verbal and written format.

  • Ability to interact and maintain good working relationships with individuals of varying social and cultural backgrounds and people with disabilities.

  • Ability to work extended hours and various work schedules.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.

  • Ability to work independently and demonstrate time management skills.

  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.

Minimum Qualifications:

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and or abilities required for the position. Individuals must be able to pass a criminal background check and drug test. Individuals must have a valid New Mexico driver's license, liability insurance, insurability under the agency insurance carrier, dependable vehicle and a clean driving record.

  • Bachelor's Degree in Journalism, Marketing, Communications, Advertising or related field.

  • Two or more years' progressive work experience in marketing, communications, advertising, graphic design or web design; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
