Marketing Specialist

Description

The Marketing Specialist, under the supervision of the Creative Services Manager, will design high quality marketing materials to achieve maximum impact and enhance the City's brand and services. Collaborates with the Creative Services Team to coordinate, implement and advance the City's communications and engagement strategies both internally and externally.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in business, marketing, communications, public relations, graphic design or closely related field required.

• Minimum three years' experience in marketing, communications, social media, or graphic design required.

• Local government experience preferred.

• Equivalent combination of experience and education may be considered.

• Command of social and digital platforms and their best practices

• Strong knowledge and understanding of marketing, graphic arts and public relations concepts, techniques and tools.

• Knowledge of typography, color, layout and production.

• Knowledge of local government principles and practices

• Skill in the use of DSLR cameras and video equipment

• Possess strong verbal and written communication skills. Adherence to AP Style.

• Proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Creative Cloud (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, Premier) computer software

• Proficiency in email marketing (e.g. Mail Chimp, Constant Contact) with an excellent understanding of email marketing concepts and metrics

• Proficiency using social media software/tools such as Hootesuite and Archive Social.

• Stay abreast of new trends and innovations in the marketing, graphic design and communication fields

• Ability to interact effectively with elected officials, City employees, City board and commission members, media, citizens and other stakeholders
