Summary:

The Marketing Specialist is an integral part of the Planning and Business Development team with the primary responsibility of developing and executing strategic marketing initiatives to acquire business and strengthen the Covenant brand in the regional market. The Market Specialist will interface with administrative and clinical leaders, physicians and professional staff to initiate, develop, maintain and monitor effective marketing and advertising tactics within indicated budgets and timelines.

This position will generate awareness of Covenant HealthCare services and providers and generate business by using a combination of internal and external resources including advertising agency talent, freelance designers and writers, and associated software applications. The Marketing Specialist work within and contribute to a collaborative team approach. Demonstrates excellent customer service performance in that his/her attitude and actions are consistent with the standards contained in the Vision, Mission and Values of Covenant HealthCare and the commitment to Extraordinary Care for Every Generation.

Responsibilities:

Demonstrates excellent customer service.

Research, develop and execute effective strategic marketing initiatives.

Work with the Planning and Business Development team to oversee and manage corporate branding strategies.

Develop marketing strategies, tactics and goals for services/product lines. Advise areas regarding procedures, programs, plans to promote services/product lines to attain their full potential by focusing on all aspects of marketing, including physician, health plan and hospital marketing to deliver services/product that consumers want.

Serve as a marketing resources for administration, physicians and departments. Creates and delivers a consistent brand across Covenant and the community through appropriate advertising and usage of the corporate identity.

Coordinate with advertising agency in developing and implementing message strategies, advertising tactics, goals, objectives and activities. Manages agency in major multimedia advertising campaign as well as service-line projects and priorities.

Oversee the development and production of marketing and informational collateral material for service lines and physician offices.

Develop and tracks project specific budgets.

Sets up and tracks ways to measure effectiveness of marketing efforts through response rates, conversion rates, service specific volume, ROI, impact on community perceptions, market share, etc.

Review and recommend signage for Covenant facilities.

Audit vendor invoices for accuracy and adherence to specifications and approves for payment.

Direct the production of special events and community relations programs related to marketing strategies, corporate events, conferences and tradeshows, along with preparation and/or presentation of special projects.

Manage and implement digital/web-related marketing initiatives.

Participate in departmental budget planning processes, evaluate current and proposed projects, monitor expenditure rates and make funding recommendations.

Participate in professional activities and maintain professional affiliation to keep abreast of trends/changes in the field.

Provide ongoing support of other market initiatives as directed, including but not limited to support, monitoring and documentation of the Covenant community sponsorship process and/or entering and tracking department expenses and project budgets, providing reports as required.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Communication, Business administration or related field (extensive experience in healthcare marketing may be considered as an alternate to the degree requirement).

Minimum 3-5- years of experience in marketing required. Healthcare marketing experience preferred.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES

Knowledge of marketing, digital marketing and/or advertising.

Knowledge of healthcare marketing, CRM tools, and/or web.

Demonstrate accountability, ability to work under minimal supervision and make independent decisions.

Excellent interpersonal verbal communication skills, strong written communication and editing skills.

Ability to exercise sound judgement and handle confidential/sensitive issues and information.

Ability to manage projects within budgets and deadlines.

Ability to handle multiple projects/tasks at one time.

Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
