The Marketing Specialist will own the execution of integrated marketing project plans for assigned service lines, programs and events aligned with specific hospital Centers of Excellence including Heart & Vascular, Cancer, Neurosciences, and Women's Health. He/she directs execution of these plans, ensuring they are on time and on budget, under the supervision of the Sr. Marketing Strategist and Sr. Marketing Specialist. The Marketing Specialist is also responsible for tracking competitive activity, providing input for strategy briefing documents, setting project timelines, and assisting with budget tracking. He/she will have had some experience with media/marketing (digital included) in either entry-level or internship positions.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develops project management plans, inclusive of deadline and budget parameters.

  • Works cross-functionally with other marketing department teams/subject matter experts to develop integrated marketing plans and timelines in support of identified business goals; responsible for ensuring projects remain on schedule.

  • Tracks competitive marketing activity on a consistent basis, developing insights on messaging and marketing strategy for collective team discussion in order to influence marketing strategy.

  • Generates and resources insights for strategy/creative briefing documents, leveraging business, brand, competitive and market data.

  • Independently reviews and provides feedback on all marketing materials developed for assigned service lines to ensure BWH brand/quality standards and communications objectives are consistently met.

  • Interfaces and communicates directly with clinical stakeholders in support of marketing initiatives.

  • Manages billing/invoices and tracking of marketing spend for assigned service lines.

  • Responsible for completion of ad-hoc project initiatives from start to finish under the supervision of the Sr. Strategist/Sr. Specialist, such as developing marketing recommendations and points of view.

  • Other duties as assigned


  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, health care administration or related area.

  • 1-2 years' previous marketing and/or media experience; agency experience preferable.

WORKING CONDITIONS: Hospital based ambulatory practice. Normal patient environments where there are some exposures to communicable diseases, unpleasant odors, needle, and blood products.
