The Marketing Project Manager manages all aspects of launching various marketing projects within the Marketing Department. Projects may include brand campaigns, launching marketing initiatives for new partners and new programs at existing partner schools. Other projects may include technology and channel marketing efforts. This individual will work with team members both inside the Marketing Department as well as other departments and vendors to achieve goals.
Manage project development from initiation to closure.
Be accountable for project results along with project sponsor.
Work with Project Sponsor and stakeholders to complete project charter, technical requirements, and business requirements to outline the project's scope, goals, deliverables, required resources, budget, and timing.
Complete work breakdown structure to estimate effort required for each task.
Provide project schedule to identify when each task will be performed.
Clearly communicate expectations to team members and stakeholders.
Run weekly team meetings.
Act as mediator between stakeholders and team members.
Resolve any issues and solve problems through project life cycle.
Effectively manage project scope by ensuring any changes to scope are documented and approved with project change request process.
Track and report project milestones and provide status reports to sponsor.
Lead, coach, and motivate project team members on a proactive basis.
Determine how results will be measured and complete a post-project retrospective to determine how well results were achieved.
Develop tools and best practices to management and execution of projects.
Safely freeze or dismantle unsuccessful or re-prioritized projects.
Ensure all project documents are safely archived following project's completion.
BS/BA in business, marketing, communication or related field is required.
3-5 years of experience in project and/or marketing management.
PMI/PMP certification is a major asset.
Familiarity with project management tools and/or software packages.
Demonstrated leadership with managing people.
Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
Strategic, operational, and technical marketing and management skills.
Rapidly adapt and respond to changes in environment and priorities.
Excellent communication, leadership, problem solving and analytical skills.
Ability to elicit cooperation from senior management and other departments.
Self-starter and highly motivated. Must be capable of working independently, yet collaboratively, within a fast-paced environment.
Must be resilient and flexible, with a proven ability to deliver results within dynamic marketplace and evolving organization.
