Marketing Product Owner
The Hartford is looking to position ourselves as a top Voluntary benefits carrier, and has an exciting opportunity for a Marketing Product Owner to support a variety of B2C initiatives including strategic plans for voluntary enrollment campaigns, decision support tools, employee-profile targeting, and data integration.
The Marketing Product Owner must also understand the valuable potential of automation and technology management to streamline functions across the Group Benefits Marketing team and the rest of the Group Benefits organization. They should understand how systems could interconnect to integrate data between platforms and how work crosses all digital channels to improve business performance. The Marketing Manager will provide support in content platform management, campaign automation, planning and execution of strategic initiatives including data analytics, customer profile segmentation, project management, and content creation. This role reports directly to the Assistant Director of Innovation, Technology, and Strategy, Group Benefits, and is based in Hartford, CT (remote optional).
Technology management and data integration SUPPORT
Responsible for bringing to completion various innovative technology initiatives from ideation, gathering business requirements, leadership buy-in, project planning, execution, and rollout of the new tool/application. Must know how to capitalize on data and technology to fulfill organizational goals with a key focus in:
Serving as super-user and product lead for a variety of digital tools and applications
Strategy development and implementation to automate marketing efforts to improve business outcomes
Change management, including implementation of new marketing technology rollouts
Potentially overseeing training of marketing software and user adoption
Oversee data security and governance review process
Relationship management with internal technology users, IT developers, and external vendors
Optimizing technology investments
THROUGH-CHANNEL AUTOMATION COLLATERAL PLATFORM SUPPORT
Responsible for managing our internal through-channel automation collateral platform. Working directly with business partners to maintain user experience, compliance standards, collateral enhancements, campaign effectiveness and reporting with a key focus in:
Vendor Relationship management: Working with our vendor to maintain and enhance current platform
Automation: Maximize automation capabilities for distribution of various marketing materials
Billing: Reviewing budgeted monthly costs and track spending trends month over month, year over year, etc
Overall Platform Management: Understanding functionality of how the platform works
Performance Optimization: Maximize user Customer Experience and efficient usage of the tool
STRATEGIC INNOVATION SUPPORT
Provides cross-functional project management of strategic initiatives to develop, create, and execute marketing initiatives and go-to-market campaigns on tight timelines
Supports the Voluntary innovation agenda, including engagement on decision-tree support tools, segmentation and modeling, and consumer-centric innovation strategies
Actively participates in operational efficiencies including testing strategies, targeting segmentation, economic drivers, creative development and analysis of company performance results.
Works with external agencies and vendors on various data, application hosting, creative management and reporting capabilities.
Partners with Creative Services team and prepares creative briefs to provide direction on design concepts and collateral.
Assists in compiling research from competitors and industry publications to create reports and strategy decks while collaborating to brainstorm and develop new creative concepts and campaigns.
Supports the management, update, optimizations for the technology, tools and applications associated with the GB Marketing
Supports content collateral system ensuring compliant management
Lends support to other GB Marketing initiatives, in support of developmental goals or stretch opportunities.
Handles requests for ad hoc communications and ad hoc projects as needed (e.g. updates to educational consumer videos, edits to product flyers, email creation, etc.).
Manages updates to client-specific microsites.
Responds to Request for Proposals (RFPs), Finalist meetings and Stewardships meetings with customized communication materials as needed.
Knowledge of marketing-related business practices, including technology, automation, integrations, market research, and budgeting
Strong experience in a Technology focused marketing position who can understand the full scope of a project including connecting dots and breaking all details down
Effective communication skills and adaptable communication style for interacting with cross functional "matrix" teams including internal business partners, external customers and vendors
The expertise to build relationships and trust with our partners is a must. A person who is able to influence our brokers and employer clients.
Detail-oriented and a multitasker with ability to meet tight turnaround times and deadlines.
