  • Develop creative outreach strategies

Job Summary The Marketing Assistant will work as part of a compact marketing department supporting SCS Engineers Southwest Business Unit. Duties will involve supporting marketing efforts such as proposals assistance, customer relations and/or follow-up, and coordinating trade shows, exhibits, and seminars. Essential Duties and Responsibilities * Support the marketing team on customer related tasks such as creating opportunity numbers and registering, maintaining, updating procurement and bid tracking sites. * Track conference milestones, ensuring deadlines for shipping and receiving are met and all materials are in good condition when shipped and received. * Maintain inventory of booths and promotional items, fulfilling requests for various conferences, but also for marketing and business development purposes for our various offices. * Make arrangements and payments for exhibit registration, exhibit booth, and promotional materials reservations. * Assist in the preparation of marketing materials, such as statements of qualifications and proposals. May require formatting in Microsoft Office Suite; specifically, Word, Excel, or PowerPoint. * Support close out process of proposals, ensuring resumes, project profiles, and boilerplate are updated. * Support collection, maintenance, and updating of marketing data in company accounting software, Vision. * Support maintenance of photography files, resumes, project descriptions, and client and prospective client mailing lists. Keep marketing folders organized. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities * Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.). * Some understanding of database concepts. * Ability to take initiative. * Good written and oral communication skills. * Strong interpersonal skills. * Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. * Ability to perform efficiently in a fast-paced, deadline oriented environment. * Ability to employ creative and innovative thought processes. * Ability to be flexible and adaptable. * Professional, ethical and committed to excellence in communications. * Ability to collaborate and work effectively with other co-workers, departments or business units. Qualifications * Bachelor's degree in English, Marketing, Communications or related field required. * 0 to 2 years marketing experience. Experience working on proposals is preferred. * Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Acrobat required. * Must be able to work well with co-workers and clients. * Valid drivers license with a driving record in good standing required.
