The Marketing Materials Specialist State Programs and Medicare II is responsible for implementing the development, and regulatory for L.A. Care State Programs and Medicare to follow Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) and DHCS regulations.
This includes responsibility for preparing marketing and member materials as required by CMS and Department of Health Care Service (DHCS), coordinating with key stakeholders to obtain approvals, managing translations, coordinating production/fulfillment, ensuring consistency of materials and branding, and tracking and managing the completion of various marketing and member materials collateral. The Marketing Materials Specialist, State Programs & Medicare must maintain current knowledge of CMS and DHCS regulations pertaining to member and marketing materials and submission requirements. This is a high-visibility position within the department as it involves engagement throughout all levels of the organization and through agency partnerships, external vendors, and stakeholder community organizations.
Manage State Programs and Medicare annual and new member mailing member materials including materials layout, review, revisions, and updates. Must ensure all annual mailing member materials are in compliance with CMS and DHCS regulations.
Develop tracking matrix, estimate quantities, coordinate revisions, obtain approvals, request translations, coordinate with layout & layout review, and move into production. Ensure
annual and new member mailings go out on time per CMS and DHCS regulations.
Lead major translation and document development initiatives as they correspond to the State Programs and Medicare product lines.
Coordinate with the Advertising Agency to promote and preserve L.A. Care branding guidelines for all Medicare marketing and member materials.
Develop rapport with Advertising Agency to ensure that all prescribed branding for Medicare and State Programs product line is consistent, coordinated and strategic in support of L.A. Care Sales/Marketing Goals and objectives for member growth.
Oversee the development of regulated provider marketing documents for the State Programs and Medicare lines of business.
Manage submissions and reporting for marketing activity for State Programs and Medicare.
Perform other duties as assigned.
In lieu of degree, equivalent education and/or experience may be considered.
At least 4 years experience developing, trafficking, and ensuring consistency of written materials and adherence to organizational policy and branding guidelines.
Background in healthcare and in developing collateral for multilingual diverse audiences.
Demonstrate an ability to adapt to changing business needs and priorities to be flexible with respect to CMS and DHCS regulatory requirements and both functional and cross-functional responsibilities.
Proficiency with Microsoft (MS) Office including Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint and Adobe Acrobat;
Strong organizational, interpersonal, project management and written/verbal communication skills; ability to meet deadlines and maintain attention to detail and accuracy while working independently or as part of a team;
Proven ability to handle high-volume workload and multi-tasking projects;
Familiarity with coordinating with graphics designer and printers; and ability to adapt to a changing environment.
Experience working with health care providers and familiarity with print production preferred. Demonstrated ability to multi-task and manage multiple assignments with critical path production schedules, timelines, deliverables and completion dates.
Knowledgeable or certified in Medicare, Medi-Cal member materials requirements.
Experience with working in health care, health insurance, or commercial products preferred. Familiarity with print production and fulfillment is highly desirable.
Bilingual in one of L.A. Care Health Plan's threshold languages is highly desirable.
