LaunchCode is a non-profit solving the tech talent gap and paving new pathways to economic opportunity through apprenticeships and job placement in technology. We're seeking a super motivated designer to lead NASA-safety-check-level-crucial elements of our Marketing and Design team, and help us expand tech greatness in the St Louis area.

The Marketing Manager Role

The Marketing Manager is responsible for the execution and creation of our program and advertising needs, digital campaign materials, print collateral, blog content, social media needs, and other marketing-focused items on an as-needed basis. This individual translates ideas into useable materials, writes compelling copy, and generally makes our programs and opportunities look amazing. The Marketing Manager supports the effective implementation of marketing initiatives for multiple audiences through effective communication, collaboration, and coordination with other operations and support departments. This role works within the Marketing Team and cross-functionally across the organization to keep many projects moving at once.

This position is part of a lean multi-discipline Marketing & Design team in a fast-moving nonprofit organization working to change lives. Responsibilities

  • Branding: maintaining and updating our brand standards across all public-facing content; concept and execution of digital collateral, photography, illustrations, print collateral, blog content, etc.

  • Social Media: develop and execute social media paid campaigns, create and schedule original organic content, manage our social communities on each channel, and curate outside news and content of interest for our audiences.

  • Advertising: collaborate with other team members to develop online campaigns to drive awareness and engagement including digital ads, emails, presentations, and other shareable collateral.

  • Email Marketing: planning and execution of newsletters, announcements, and other email campaigns to drive engagement and action among our varied audiences.

  • Copywriting: for varied audiences across multiple platforms and uses outlined above.

  • Visual design: to support organizational needs on an as-needed basis, and in collaboration with others on design and implementation of multi-team outreach initiatives to capitalize on opportunities.

  • Execution of other miscellaneous marketing needs as they arise.

Qualifications

  • Capable of managing the design process from ideation through the delivery of print and digital collateral requests, adhering to brand standards

  • Ability to independently manage the workflow of overlapping projects from multiple requestors

  • Clear communicator to ensure understanding in both written and verbal planning and discussions

  • Motivated to always be learning more and apply learnings to improve processes and outcomes

  • Comfortable taking photos as needed at events or for use in marketing content

  • An inclination toward teamwork and collaboration

  • Graphic design experience a plus

  • Ability to work some evenings (approximately 2 evenings a month)

Software:

  • Expert at using social media management software to manage multi-channel scheduled posting and activity

  • Proficient in Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, and Acrobat Pro

  • Bonus points for XD, Premier Pro, After Effects, and/or Adobe Animate

  • Experience marketing email delivery platforms

  • Experience with blog or website builders, prefer experience with WordPress

  • Prefer experience with Google Business Suite, including Drive, Docs, Sheets, Pages

  • Prefer experience with Slack and Trello, though not required

Position Type

Full Time - 40 hours per week
