Overview

The Marketing Manager will report to the Communications and Outreach Manager and have direct accountability for creating and managing an effective marketing program targeting both patients and referring physicians. This position will be responsible for developing and implementing a lead-generation marketing plan for the Washington, Alaska, Montana, Idaho, and Oregon (WAMIO) region. They will have direct accountability for evaluating effectiveness of current tactics, and assessing the market opportunities to generate an ongoing patient referral stream and high patient demand. This will include, but not be limited to, managing a marketing program, managing social media, and collaborating across the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Manage Marketing Program

  • Developing effective lead-generation marketing plan that targets referring physicians and patients in the WAMIO region.

  • Oversee marketing budget.

  • Manage PR/Ad Agency in delivery of digital, print, radio, and TV advertising. Evaluate agency performance and help new choose new agency if necessary.

  • Conduct market research, comparison studies and analysis.

  • Position proton therapy as an effective, safe treatment for patients with cancer.

  • Develop, create, update, and catalog marketing and outreach collateral. Collaborate closely with physicians and other clinical staff to ensure technical accuracy of all marketing collateral.

  • Analyze business metrics to identify issues, gaps and opportunities.

  • Work closely with cross functional teams (including physicians) in support of new treatment technologies and clinical programs. This will include market analysis and developing an execution plan around the roll-out of new technologies and clinical programs at the Center.

  • Collaborate with marketing teams at other proton therapy locations to share best practices.

  • Plan and execute marketing tactics outside the scope of the Ad/PR agency which may include direct mail, sponsorships, web site content, or events.

  • Flag interesting stories with PR potential for Ad Agency follow up.

  • Work with Seattle Cancer Care Alliance to ensure that all our marketing efforts adhere to SCCA brand standards.

  • Manage Social Media

  • Create a social media calendar that engages our target constituents across all platforms.

  • Using a story telling approach, create social media posts that are grammatically correct, compelling, and meet brand standards.

  • Monitor social media accounts, responding to comments as appropriate, and flagging any comments to be addressed. Work toward creating an engaged, online community.

  • Engage with social media accounts of other organizations in our network

  • Collaborate Across the Organization

  • Develop relationships with every team in the organization in order to facilitate marketing activities that require engagement by various staff.

  • Collaborate with C&O Manager on messaging. Work to ensure that all marketing collateral are consistent with Proton Therapy Center messaging.

  • Assist C&O Manager with editing any materials or correspondence for outreach, external messaging, and internal messaging.

  • Talk and engage frequently with other teams to learn about events and determine whether there are PR, referral, outreach, or other growth opportunities.

  • Project Management

  • Manage large projects that will require coordinating outside vendors, internal staff, and patient feedback. Such projects may include a web site redesign or production of patient educational videos.

  • Look for problems that can be addressed through marketing initiatives, and collaborate with staff to develop solutions.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of five years experience in marketing; with an emphasis in healthcare.

  • At least two years of experience managing a marketing program.

  • At least two years of experience creating and managing social media

  • Experience working directly with physicians preferred.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate and build relationships internally and externally

  • Proven expertise executing local marketing, sales, advocacy and PR programs

  • Experience managing an advertising or PR agency

  • Understanding of local market dynamics as it relates to patient referral patterns

  • Ability to maintain an "ear to the ground" and create new initiatives by listening to MDs and patients.

  • Excellent writing and editing skills

  • Outstanding storytelling skills

  • Ability to operate in both a clinical and community setting

  • Able to work flexible hours

  • Experience in working directly with physicians a plus

  • Excellent computer skills, including use PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and Outlook.

  • Ability to work in an open-plan workspace

  • Graphic design skills preferred

  • Photography and photo editing skills preferred

The Patient Navigator will coordinate the patient's entry into and through the health care system, coordinate patient care services and serve as patient advocate.Under the general direction of the Associate Director of Patient Access, the Patient Navigator will use knowledge of the Center policies/procedures, insurance coverage requirements, to coordinate all patient services such as registration/intake, arranging diagnostic tests or procedures, scheduling consultation and follow up requests, and scheduling services of other hospital departments to facilitate delivery of care to patients.
