Nordstrom NYC will be among the citys most iconic stores, the biggest and best statement of our brand, the largest single-project investment in Nordstrom history and our highest volume store. Our team in New York support both store and national marketing strategies.
The ideal Mens Designer and New Concepts Marketing Manager is a strategic and creative thinker who will build strategies to support a growing mens designer business while amplifying new, innovative concepts to build the Nordstrom brand and increase relevancy for our mens business.
Develop marketing plans for seasonal campaigns and/or leads the development of marketing projects to meet business goals, focusing on the 3-9 month horizon
Support the Mens Designer and New Concept VP and merchant team
Develop & execute creative and innovative ideas to position Nordstrom as the number one mens and designer destination to customers & brands
Writes strategic campaign briefs (with supporting data) to impart clear direction and measures of success to the campaign teams
Develop vendor campaign proposals, reporting and marketing plans to be presented in market
Partner with media agency and team to drive media strategy in support of mens designer/new concept projects, content and experiences to drive customer acquisition and market/industry relevance
Manage mens designer and new concept marketing budget, ensures receipt of vendor funds and tracks various spending streams and works closely with Finance team to ensure proper tracking
Partner with the merchant team to understand divisional priorities, key brands, business operations and metrics
Develop and maintain relationships across all designer vendors, and exhibits professional communication & presentation skills when communicating with vendor contacts
Provide coaching, direction, management and support to junior team member(s)
Stay current on best practices in marketing, target customer and key competitors
You own this if you have
Bachelors Degree in Marketing or related field required
3-5 years of experience in consumer marketing with progressively larger responsibility
Experience with multi-channel marketing, as well as making marketing recommendations, setting marketing goals, writing marketing briefs and leading teams through concept and development
Ability to think strategically and innovatively, while still managing the details of day-to-day execution
Experience planning, owning, and managing marketing budgets
Advanced Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, macros, etc.) & PowerPoint skills
Experience managing direct reports preferred
Experience working in the fashion retail sector preferred
Strong relationship building and communication skills
Strong attention to detail & precision across all communications, both internal & external
