Legrand has an exciting opportunity for a Manager, Specification Marketing Education to join the Building Control Systems Team in Carlsbad, CA.
The Manager, Specification Marketing will lead development of a marketing strategy which contributes directly to the aspiration of Legrand Building Control Systems becoming the #1 specified solution in the Education vertical market (colleges and universities). The position will have a national purview that spans all business areas of BCS (lighting controls, shading, and services), and will work in close collaboration with the Vertical Market Sales Director for Education as well as the regional field sales teams. Day to day responsibilities include: strategic lead generation, identification, targeting, and tracking of key "must win" projects, customer & specifier event planning, channel management & support, and management of contracted marketing resources in the development of literature and materials to target the Education market.
What Will You Do?
Work with Education Sales Director and field sales teams on market segmentation, targeting, and positioning of BCS solutions in pursuit of target customers and "must win" projects. Track progress of Education opportunities through the sales funnel monitoring specification rate and revenue as KPI's.
Collaborate with the Education Sales Director and Field Sales team to scale specification sales efforts nationwide by pursuing strategically identified opportunities
Help to drive usage of BCS's sequence of operation as the basis of design for Education projects. Track Education project Basis of Design rate as a KPI.
Become the resident expert on relevant tools and resources including DODGE, Salesforce, and other tools as needed. Be the lead champion in the integration of these tools into the regular sales process for Education vertical.
Create and manage Education specification targeted events strategy with targeted attendees working in collaboration with Education Sales Director, Specification Evangelist, Field sales. Work with Event Planning Manager on event planning and logistics.
Work with Sales, Services and Finance teams to track Education Specification Sales and Marketing metrics and KPIs, and aggregate into a dashboard report.
Develop and deploy Education targeted marketing materials. Work with graphic design expert, printers, agencies and photographers as needed to develop these materials. Collaborate with Product Marketing on articulation of BCS solution value propositions and Sales team on deployment.
Travel for Education construction industry events and customer meetings as needed (approximately 25%)
Marketing Experience preferred.
Communication: Superior written and verbal communication skills, with demonstrated ability to utilize influence to drive organizational behavior without having direct managerial authority
Organization: Strong organizational skills and ability to utilize CRM tools to effectively track and manage opportunities working with a variety of stakeholders. Work with a sense of urgency to bring structure to vertical market development process
Collaboration: Ability to foster a spirit of camaraderie while working with team members to pursue achievement of our shared goal of becoming the #1 specified solution in our target vertical markets.
