Job Title: Marketing Manager

Reports To: Associate Director of Marketing & PR

Classification: Salaried- Exempt

Summary:

This position assists the Associate Director of Marketing & Public Relations in strategic marketing efforts and all projects pertaining to the Marketing & PR department.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Include the following. Other duties may be assigned;

  • Maintains Houston Ballet's social media presence (including but not limited to Facebook, Twitter, Instagram).

  • Develops and maintains a calendar that maximizes relevant, current content.

  • Coordinates graphics and video presence on social media channels

  • Manages social media contributions from the Marketing & PR Coordinator

  • Facilitate Houston Ballet's email marketing program, including planning, content creation, audience segmentation, and reporting. Manages email contributions from Marketing & PR Coordinator.

  • Assist Associate Director of Marketing & PR with copywriting projects for branding pieces spanning web, print, signage, and commercials.

  • Manage fulfillment and delivery of all print and direct mail campaigns booked by the department, with close attention devoted to brand integrity.

  • Collaborate with Director of Marketing & PR and the Associate Director of Marketing & PR on the branding concepts for all institutional video and photoshoots, and oversee logistic coordination by the Marketing & PR Coordinator.

  • Manage marketing presence in all external venues and facilitate promotional partnerships.

  • Assist with Houston Ballet community and promotional events, including Theater District Open House and Miller Outdoor Theatre performances.

  • Execute all job functions while maintaining brand integrity and high-quality work with a patron-centered focus, with a positive, teamwork-oriented attitude

  • Assist the Marketing & PR department with main stage marketing as needed and all other projects and tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • 4-year university degree

  • Minimum 3+ years of marketing experience; arts marketing preferred but not required

  • Excellent computer skills: MS excel, Word, Outlook

  • Experience managing company social media platforms

  • Experience in project management preferred

  • Knowledge of dance, music, or performing arts preferred

  • Basic Adobe CS knowledge, preferred

Physical Demands:

  • Ascending or descending stairs, ramps and the like, using feet and legs and/or hands and arms

  • Distance vision (clear vision at 20 feet or more).

  • Color vision (ability to identify and distinguish colors).

  • Occasional lifting of objects weighing 25+ pounds is required.

Work Environment:

  • Well-lighted, heated and/or air-conditioned indoor office setting with adequate ventilation.

  • Full Time requires significant work time outside the normal business hours.

  • Moderate overnight travel (up to 10%) by land and/or air.
