About The Role Western Security Bank is seeking an experienced Marketing Manager. The Marketing Manager will manage the marketing process from research and planning to execution and analysis.
The position develops and implements marketing plans, budgets and integrated campaigns that support banks goals and objectives by generating demand for our products and services targeting both existing and potential customers. Position is responsible building brand recognition by establishing and maintaining brand standards across all channels and facilities. The Marketing Manager will report to the Division President.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Develop and implement strategic marketing plans and forecasts to support the overall bank goals and objectives. Identify appropriate target markets including both existing customers and potential customers and build plans and campaigns to meet the needs of identified markets.
Establish and manage a marketing budget that supports the established marketing plan. Create and implement compliant marketing campaigns that leverage the most appropriate channel(s) to reach the identified markets. Potential channels include, print, social media, digital, television, website, direct mail, and others.
Build brand recognition via integrated advertising, public relations and charitable giving strategies that speak with one common voice. Establish and maintain consistent brand standards throughout all product lines, promotional materials, events, and facilities. Train others as necessary to maintain brand standards.
Develop strategies and tools designed to improve customer satisfaction, retention, and loyalty. Seek out opportunities to promote, foster and maintain bank's positive corporate image as a community focused organization. Will work collaboratively with members of the Senior Management team to determine product/service objectives and develop a marketing plan or campaign in accordance with established team objectives.
Facilitate communication between Marketing and other departments. Liaise with key department managers to ensure timely development and implementation of creative strategies; represent the Marketing department at applicable meetings and events. Perform regular competitor analysis by being aware of competitor products, sales, and marketing efforts.
Make adjustments to bank strategy to meet changing markets and conditions and identify opportunities within the market. Stay on top of relevant industry trends and make actionable recommendations. Review and analyze bank sales performances against programs, quotes, and plans to determine effectiveness and recommend alternative measures as necessary.
Provide leadership and management to assigned staff and the quality of services provided to customers. Facilitate and/or provide training related to job knowledge/activities, systems, equipment, documentation and applicable guidelines, procedures, and policies. Communicate clearly and effectively with staff to provide instruction, guidance and to develop trust and respect.
Support department, division, and company initiatives. Ensure compliance with procedures, bank policies and government regulations Develop, implement, and evaluate all advertising and promotional materials. Finalize editing and design work, and contract for the printing of all marketing related materials to assure cost-effective, error-free publications.
Review and proof all branded messages created internally ensuring grammatical correctness and Bank's marketing graphic standards are met. Develop and/or coordinate and implement ad concept and development consistent with the bank's image when working with various outside vendors. Meet with outside vendors to negotiate media buying and purchasing of ad space and digital media.
Gather information to estimate commitments for time and costs to complete the work and coordinate with vendors and various other entities to ensure projects are delivered within parameters. Establish and maintain relationships with media outlets, agencies, vendors, and key strategic partners. Participate in community events and activities to enhance image of bank and to develop contacts within the area served by the bank.
Participate in GBCI marketing gatherings, phone calls and projects. Create and maintain WSB signage, standards, and coordinate maintenance. Develop and oversee maintenance of the Western Security Bank website.
Review and manage website content for relevance, compliance, and timeliness; obtain and analyze feedback to improve content and features; perform quality checks to eliminate errors; and work with GBCI team to maintain consistency and functionality. Prepare marketing activity reports for presentation to senior management. Prepare reports and communicate marketing efforts to bank board of directors as requested Develop and improve skills through training programs and regular feedback discussions with supervisors, which help further professional development.
Actively participates in WSB continuing education. Maintain open communication with internal compliance and audit to assure that regulatory processes and procedures are followed effectively. Must comply with all company policies and procedures and all applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control.
Performs duties while complying with Federal and State Laws and GBCI/WSB policies and procedures. Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed, including special projects as assigned. Position performs other duties as needed/assigned.
About You QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree (B.A.) in Marketing, Business, Finance or any related degree from a four-year college or university preferred. A minimum of 3 years successful work experience in marketing/public relations.
Experience working in a financial institution is preferred. Demonstrated experience with social media branding and identity is preferred. Equivalent combination of education and experience.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILL, ABILITY: Working knowledge of modern office practices and procedures. Ability to use listed tools and equipment.

Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership technique, and coordination of people and resources. Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services.
This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services and evaluation of customer satisfaction Ability to consider the relative costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate one. WORK ENVIRONMENT: Work is routinely performed indoors in climate-controlled office with usually minimal noise.
Works outside of office generally for purposes of meeting with customers/vendors, developing advertising/marketing campaigns and participating in other marketing activities.
