Job Description Job Description Job Summary This is a marketing leadership role, reporting directly to the CEO. The ideal candidate has 3 to 5 years of experience in flexible film packaging, with an industry-leading organization, and will have the experience and desire to build and lead a team and develop and execute strategy.

The successful candidate will embrace the opportunity to work with, learn from, and challenge the CEO. The candidate needs to have prior experience in the fresh/perishable food industry and, more specifically, within food packaging/packaging science. Areas of responsibility include:

Strategic Planning: Will lead the strategic planning process (3-5 years). Specific areas of focus for Garlock are in furthering its sustainability agenda and strategy; focused product growth strategies, within specific target markets; and expansion plans. The successful candidate will write and execute a pragmatic, implementable strategic plan:

Defines/documents/clearly articulates market needs Defines a prospective value proposition and validate it with prospective customers Identifies, hones and articulates a compelling value proposition Understands sources of competitive advantage and can exploit these Effectively differentiates company, product, and service offerings Sizes a market and segment to a “servable” market opportunity Translates market size into an entry-point and expansion plan…. Initial product offering and application(s) à 3-year roadmap Identification/definition of prospective customers and the “ideal” customer target(s)/launch customers. Arms business development with the facts and information needed to generate leads Develop collateral materials for sales and lead generation (pitch deck, leave-behind, micro-site, etc.) Develops, coordinates, and implements a multi-faceted marketing communications plan, including participation in key trade shows New Product Development: Knows how to develop business case assumptions and build out proforma financial estimates, to include price, volume, timing and capital requirements:

Able to lead a cross-functional team through the stage-gate product development process and lead the commercialization of new products and/or expansion of existing product lines Prepare sales forecast assumptions, scenarios and contingencies Accountable for making sure the team selects the best process; one that will lead to competitive advantage Responsible for growth capital (new product and capacity expansion) Mergers and Acquisitions: Will work closely with the CEO to identify and evaluate inorganic growth opportunities (i.e. partnerships, alliances, joint ventures or acquisitions). Skills and Knowledge Desired: Bachelor’s degree in finance or marketing acceptable, with prior experience in plastic food packaging space.

Bachelor’s degree in Packaging Science or Polymer Science/Chemical Engineer, with experience in marketing and product management. MBA desired Highly organized Professional, detailed and results oriented; Bias toward action Strong Project Management Experience Effective cross-functional leadership skills Balance approach between “customer first” and financial/fiscal responsibility to the business and its sponsors Strictly maintains confidentiality and discretion Proactive. Shows and takes initiative Exemplary interpersonal and communication skills Outstanding analytical skills; Data-driven approach Meeting and exceeding sales goals Prospecting confidence and willingness.

Strong proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, HubSpot (or equivalent CRM solution) Direct Reports: Initially, this position will have one direct report (Business Development Coordinator). A successful leader will be responsible for designing the marketing organization and justifying the need for additional resources, to include writing job descriptions and budgeting for those resources. P&L Responsibility:

The marketing organization will be built on a “pay as we go”/ “points on the board”/ results basis. Industry Involvement: A successful leader will be well-connected in our industry, to include attending and participating in trade association activities conferences (i.e.

SPC, IFPA, FPA). This leader will be our will become a knowledge expert in flexible food packaging Work Environment: This job may be done remotely. It will require occasional work in an office and manufacturing environment.
