We are looking for an experienced Marketing Manager to become part of our creative, collaborative, and high-energy team. As an integral part of the marketing team, you will have the opportunity to market the company, as well as develop innovative and creative proposals, presentations, and other materials that help win new projects for Clark. This position will be located in our McLean, VA office.


  • Lead and manage the preparation of winning RFQ and RFP responses, including writing, editing, and visual communication.

  • Manage other members of the marketing team, including providing mentorship and feedback, as well as conducting reviews for quality and competitiveness.

  • Help to identify and implement policies, procedures, and best practices/opportunities for continuous process improvement.

  • Organize and lead proposal teams in coordination with our operational leaders and the company's national marketing team.

  • Build collaborative relationships with project staff to facilitate team synergy, creativity, and effectiveness.

  • Develop and edit presentation material for interviews with clients. Lead presentation preparation, including providing coaching for public speaking skills.


  • Bachelor's degree with a major in Communications, English, Business, Political Science, or other relevant focus of study in writing, communications, and/or critical analysis.

  • 7+ years of relevant and successful marketing and proposal management experience with a minimum 2 years of experience in architecture, engineering, and/or construction (AEC) industry.

  • Proven experience coordinating and managing large-scale and complex proposal efforts.

  • Strong organizational, planning and project management skills and the ability to coordinate the activities of various team members when faced with multiple deadlines.

  • Demonstrated ability to write and communicate in a clear and compelling manner, with a strong command of English grammar and editing, as well as attention to detail.

  • Experience using the Adobe Creative Suite (primarily InDesign) required..

  • Creativity and resourcefulness, with the ability to execute creative ideas effectively.

  • Confident personality with the ability to think strategically and help teams develop sound marketing, pursuit, and proposal strategies.

  • Strong work ethic and problem-solving skills with a hands-on and team-oriented attitude.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Technical writing background and/or marketing experience for professional services.

  • Experience in visual communication and graphics development, including experience in graphic design, computer aided design, and media production.

  • Experience working on private development proposals.

  • Experience working on design-build proposals.

  • Experience working in a broad range of market sector types ranging from healthcare to mission critical.

Read on!</p><p>More specifically, you will:</p><ul><li><p>Carry out the opening/conversion Marketing efforts to establish new hotels as an Americas Managed property.</p></li><li><p>Deliver scalable, hotel-level Marketing support that results in commercially focused marketing launch plans, supported by a well-defined strategic positioning.</p></li><li><p>Ensure all vital Marketing strategies and actions are in place and completed on time, which allows the hotel to be set up for successful revenue and market share gains from the time of acquisition.</p></li><li><p>Provide onboarding support to on-site Marketing leaders.</p></li><li><p>Manage regular communication with internal partners.</p></li></ul><p>This position will work very closely with the Americas Managed Commercial team and the Marketing &amp; eCommerce New Hotel Opening team, as well as being a resource for hotel Marketing leads. Crucial to this role is the ability to demonstrate core Marketing skills including professional creative design, hotel positioning, and strategic marketing plan creation.
