The Marketing and Business Development Team at B&D is growing, and we are seeking a highly skilled and versatile Marketing Manager to join our dynamic team. This new position offers an exciting opportunity to shape the firm's marketing strategy, amplify our brand, and play a critical role in connecting B&D's mission to our clients, partners, and communities.

THE OPPORTUNITY:

As our Marketing Manager, you will report directly to the Marketing Director and be a key driver of our marketing campaigns and initiatives. We are looking for a true marketing "Swiss Army knife"-a versatile professional who excels in writing and storytelling, digital marketing, and event management while maintaining a data-driven and detail-oriented approach. This role requires a proactive, tech-savvy individual who thrives in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment and is excited to make a measurable impact on B&D's growth.

In this position, you will manage externally-facing upper-funnel marketing campaigns and lead the planning and execution of conferences and tradeshows. You will also provide insights through analytics to gauge ROI for your campaigns and initiatives. With responsibilities spanning multiple disciplines, this role is perfect for someone who enjoys wearing many hats and anticipates the needs of their team, clients, and audience.

This hybrid role requires twice weekly in-office attendance at our Washington, DC, office.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

Content Marketing

  • Develop and execute marketing awareness and demand generation campaigns to support B&D's business goals.
  • Produce (reporting, writing, editing and design) client-facing newsletters.
  • Create engaging content for social media, email campaigns, blogs, and other digital platforms.
  • Monitor analytics to improve engagement and performance.

Conference & Tradeshow Management

  • Plan and manage all event logistics, including booth design and setup, shipping materials, and staffing plans.
  • Ensure seamless on-site execution and represent B&D professionally at events.
  • Measure and analyze the ROI of event participation to optimize future investments.

Data & Analytics

  • Leverage tools like Google Analytics and Excel to track and report on campaign performance.
  • Provide data-driven insights to inform strategy and measure success.

Project Management

  • Coordinate marketing initiatives using Monday.com
  • Streamline workflows, ensure deadlines are met, and maintain hyper-organization across all projects.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR:

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in journalism, marketing, communications, or a relevant field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of professional B2B marketing experience.
  • Experience in managing paid and organic marketing campaigns to support business goals.
  • Expert-level proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel (testing will be conducted).
  • Hands-on experience with Google Analytics, content management systems (WordPress preferred), Adobe Photoshop, and Adobe InDesign.
  • Proven track record in conference and tradeshow planning, including logistics and ROI analysis.

Skills & Expertise:

  • Strong understanding of the marketing funnel.
  • Strong writing and storytelling skills, with the ability to produce news-style articles for client-facing newsletters.
  • Proficiency in using LinkedIn for organic and paid awareness and demand-generation campaigns
  • Advanced organizational and project management skills, with experience using tools like Monday.com or Asana.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret metrics and performance data.
  • Submission of writing samples (personal blogs are particularly welcome) and marketing campaign plans (including performance data) is required.
  • Bonus: Basic video editing and post-production skills.

The target base annual salary range for this role is currently $90,000-100,000. Pay scales are determined by role, level, location, and alignment with market data. Individual pay is determined through interviews and an assessment of several factors that that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to, job-related skills, relevant education and experience, certifications, abilities of the candidate and pay relative to other team members.
