Job Summary:

The Marketing Manager will help to propel Bakkavor US, through results-driven B2B / private label marketing efforts. Drive the marketing function in support of key internal and external stakeholders to deliver best-in-class innovative thinking and insights to increase competitive advantage and market share. Gain a clear understanding of ever-evolving customer priorities and help provide customer-specific marketing action plans. Leads the consumer and category insight agenda for the business and delivers key insights with engaging and compelling narratives. Responsible for the development and implementation of the B2B / Private Label Marketing Plan, execution of the Consumer Insights and Category Management Programs and leading all external Communications.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Act as the company's main marketing point of contact to support with internal needs that align with the strategic plan and support customer and market share growth

  • Develop and execute the B2B focused Marketing Plan through implementation of results-driven marketing tactics, including but not limited to category management, consumer insights, social media, and external communications

  • Responsible for managing the development of marketing and sales materials including, but not limited to PowerPoint presentations, digital sell sheets, videos, website updates

  • Responsible for Category Management including developing and maintaining a data/research plan in order to identify key consumer insights, trends and opportunities. Manage all areas of research and insight across key categories by investigating, collating and disseminating consumer and category insights

  • Manage multiple data and insight sources to synthesize a single coherent narrative in response to business issues and drive decisions. Manage qualitative research to generate insights necessary to support proposition development

  • Compile and create key trend reports, competitor activity, threats and opportunities in chosen areas of focus based on continuous monitoring of the external market

  • Research, monitor and collate competitor activity to develop both an ongoing view of threats and opportunities as well as to inform specific proposition development and go-to-market strategies

  • Support VP in the development and execution of compelling customer-specific sales presentations that outline the growth opportunity utilizing data-driven insights. Manage Marketing Analyst in generating support data to bolster the presentation effectiveness

  • Lead all external Communications efforts. Support HR with internal Communications (e.g., providing Brand frameworks and guidelines)

  • Work with the VP to manage & prioritize the workload with fluidity and in a timely manner for self and direct report

  • Collaborate with UK Group Comms Team in the execution of a US social media strategy including organic Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn page management, along with possible paid advertising

  • Responsible for creating posts (captions, hashtags and sourcing images), community management, posting and targeting. Conduct performance analysis to recommend optimization

  • Support Business Development team with building and maintaining customer specific marketing plans, as needed

  • Work as a team with internal Commercial and Concept R&D Teams on customer specific marketing plans and efforts by providing the narrative for food trends and how to connect them with the customer

  • Work with Sales, R&D and other key stakeholder groups to form a view of capabilities and performance and therefore inform decision making for proposition development

  • Work with multi-faceted product portfolio and customer base (e.g., 3-6-month category turns)

  • Challenge/evaluate all requests in a smart manner to ensure each project delivers optimally for all stakeholders Oversee one direct report (Marketing Analyst)

Job Knowledge:

  • Marketing principles and current and relevant best practices

  • Marketing plan creation with measurable results tied to overall company strategic and action plans

  • Experience analyzing and generating retail level syndicated data sources (e.g., Nielsen or IRI); must have vast network and understanding of the players in the industry surrounding data sources and retail data analysis

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Excel and PowerPoint. Knowledge and understanding of key social media platforms (e.g., IG, Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn)

  • Knowledge of websites (primarily front end) as well as SEO and experience measuring SEO effectiveness

Job Skills:

  • Strong marketing knowledge and acumen; B2B/private label marketing a plus

  • Able to create and define marketing best practices; must be a self-starter and able to pioneer new ideas while building this marketing function from the ground up

  • Incredibly strong Consumer Insights & Category management knowledge and skills

Job Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree (B.A. / B.S.) from an accredited college or university required. MBA and Marketing major preferred

  • 5+ years of experience in a food-centric CPG organization. Experience in a Marketing/Digital/Advertising agency environment or client-side marketing department

  • Experience building and maintaining customer specific private label marketing plans through collaboration with other internal teams/departments

  • Incredibly strong Consumer Insights & Category management knowledge and skills, with the ability to "bring insights alive" through highly-polished presentations
