The Role

We are looking for a Marketing Manager to join our team based in Arlington, VA, following our hybrid schedule.

Specific responsibilities include the following:

Marketing for New Development, Redevelopment and Acquisitions

  • Manage all marketing initiatives for assigned set of apartment communities. This includes a heavy focus on the go-to-market and/or repositioning strategies for new development, redeveloped and acquired communities. Requires strong collaboration with external creative and digital agencies and internal digital advertising and website teams to create awareness and generate leads and leases to meet occupancy and revenue objectives.

  • Provide direction for and oversight of all marketing collateral and sales material, permanent/temporary signage packages, and asset creation (virtual tours, floor plans, site maps photography, video). Ensure agencies and vendor partners provide consistent brand message across the portfolio and review all marketing materials prior to ad placement or production.

  • Work closely with internal teams and external partners in the areas of PPC, website maintenance, social media content and advertising, internet listing services, virtual leasing, and resident resources.

  • Evaluate advertising exposure ongoing for assigned communities and ensure property has the proper amount of visibility to meet traffic goals and optimize channels accordingly.

  • Serve as a steward for AvalonBay's corporate and consumer brands to ensure consistent brand presentation across all communication mediums. Provide brand training to internal associates as needed.

  • Create, monitor, manage and analyze all community marketing/advertising budgets and performance for assigned communities.

  • Manage third party partners by driving for both performance and efficiency. Assess new partner opportunities as needs or opportunities arise.

Portfolio-wide Brand/Marketing Program Management

  • Develop, implement and manage end-to-end marketing programs and campaigns to support corporate initiatives and company-wide marketing programs, as assigned. This could include both consumer-facing and employee-facing campaigns.

  • Lead third-party marketing partnerships, including community/portfolio onboarding and executing ongoing promotional touchpoints to residents.

Candidate must have a Bachelor's degree, preferably in marketing, communications or business. Plus a minimum of 5 years in a marketing role performing the duties required by this position.

Preferred qualifications include marketing experience for multi-site, real-estate-based service businesses such as multifamily housing, hotels, assisted living or retail/mixed-use. In addition, candidates must possess excellent written, verbal, analytical, and interpersonal communication skills. Candidates must be proficient with MS Office suite.
