Job Summary

Primary purpose

The faculty member, in this 10-month non-tenure-track position, will teach courses primarily in Marketing Principles and other core courses and electives as needed, including Sales, Sports Marketing, Marketing Research, and Consumer Behavior. The Department of Management, Marketing, and Logistics offers academic programs of study including Management and Marketing with concentrations in Logistics, Human Resource Management, and Sales. The Department also offers a nationally ranked graduate program in Logistics and Supply Chain Management and our faculty contribute to the highly successful Georgia

WebMBA program.

The faculty employee is expected to have:

  1. understanding of the principles associated with teaching and learning.

  2. strong communication skills and successful higher education teaching experience.

  3. a developing research agenda.


This position carries a non tenure track status.

Responsibilities

Teaching Responsibilities: Advertising, Sales, Retailing, Social Media, Sports Marketing, along with Principles of Marketing and other core and elective courses as needed.

Conduct regular course meetings and instruction.

Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements

Masters Degree and 18 graduate credit hours within the teaching discipline are required that meet SCACSCOC accreditation requirements stated in C.S. 3.7.1 (www.sacscoc.org (faculty credentials)

Other Required Qualifications

Demonstrable understanding of Georgia College & State University's mission and enthusiasm for working closely with high-achieving students within an academic community dedicated to the advancement of knowledge through learning and scholarship.

Ability to work collegiality with others in service to the University.

Additional Preferred Qualifications

Hiring preference will be given to faculty who demonstrate an understanding of Georgia College's mission and who are enthusiastic about working closely with high-achieving students within an academic community dedicated to the advancement of knowledge through learning and scholarship.

Evidence of methodological innovation and creative teaching strategies is highly desirable.

Preferred Educational Qualifications

Terminal degree in Marketing or related fields.

Preferred Experience

Successful Higher Education teaching experience at the undergraduate level within the candidate's area of specialization including Strategic Marketing, Sales, Sports Marketing, and other core marketing courses; experience teaching at the graduate level would be considered.
