Group/Division

The mission of Corporate Marketing at KLA-Tencor is to enable customer success while achieving longterm revenue goals, by partnering with customers and organizations within KLA-Tencor. We work towards this goal by: Learning relevant market and technology data, which are critical to identify key problems and guide the development of differentiated products and solutions; by deploying new products and solutions to achieve penetration, adoption and share goals, while ensuring customers successfully achieve their business objectives; and by engaging with customers to ensure our solutions meet their needs and address roadblocks to our mutual success.

Corporate marketing includes: Corporate Communications (technical communications, brand, public relations, social media, web and advertising); Strategic and Field Marketing (business intelligence, forecasting, market analysis and value programs to support customer success and growth); Process Control Solutions (technical roadmap planning, consulting on yield enhancement and collaboration with customers) and Customer Engagement (customer value delivery and maximizing penetration, share, adoption). The Corporate Marketing group reports to the Chief Marketing Officer and Senior VP of Global Customer Success.

Responsibilities

Job responsibilities of the Communications Intern include:

  • Technical writing, editing and other content development in support of products and campaigns, such as editorials, technical papers, field advisories, product brochures and application notes

  • Social media and web writing and editing, both technical and non-technical

  • Development of original promotional content for social media

  • Ability to commit between 20-35 hours on the job

Qualifications

  • Experience in technical writing and editing

  • Experience in social media writing in a professional setting

  • Coursework in semiconductor processing

  • Fluency in English grammar terms

Minimum Qualifications

  • Outstanding written and oral communication skills in English

  • Currently pursuing a degree in marketing, communications, engineering or physical science

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word and PowerPoint

  • Team-oriented, self-motivated and detail-oriented

Job Summary: Nanometrics is seeking a high-energy individual that can lead the product marketing efforts for our flagship semiconductor metrology product line. The Director of Product Marketing will report directly into the Vice President of the Business Unit and shall be based out of our Milpitas, California campus. Roles and Responsibilities: A successful candidate for this role shall be responsible for leading global product activities. The candidate shall be expected to: * Perform market research, monitor competitive activity, and identify emerging customer needs * Define market requirements and business plan for new products, specifications, and value pricing * Develop and manage to sustain product strategies including upgrades and obsolescence * Support the worldwide account sales and business development group through effective penetration and adoption strategies, value pricing, and timely response to customer requirements * Own and drive key customer evaluations and technical review meetings * Develop and maintain product collateral Experience and Education: Candidate must have met minimum requirements to successfully meet expectations for the position: * 10+ years of experience in product marketing, applications and/or program management * Master's or Ph.D. in Engineering or Sciences; MBA a strong plus * Prior experience with semiconductor capital equipment including working knowledge of semi front-end processes, metrology and/or inspection products * The candidate shall have demonstrated key successes in one or more of the following areas: * Working with and leading cross-functional teams and/or projects * Leading key customer initiatives resulting in significant value to the organization * New product introduction and support Other Requirements: * Candidate must demonstrate flexibility with travel to Nanometrics' key customer locations as required.
