The Global Community Wi-Fi team is seeking a driven, visionary and versatile marketing intern to be part of a truly unique position! Join an emerging team that's working hard to make a difference in people's lives by connecting unconnected communities throughout Mexico, Brazil and other LATAM countries. The Community Wi-Fi marketing intern will get exposure to many opportunities and challenges the marketing team faces in working with a unique market, from high level strategy to integrated creative campaigns and product development.
Work cross-functionally with a variety of teams including Brand, Creative, Project Managers, IT, Operations to execute on marketing tactics on-time and within budget
Manage new project requests from initiation through completion
Ensure integration across marketing tactics utilized in-market (print, digital, social, PR, etc.)
Competitive research think outside of the box to research a variety of direct and indirect competitors
Consumer research dig into consumer insights, utilizing the data to inform product and marketing enhancements
Brainstorm and present ideas around new product development
Tap into analytics through a variety of 1st and 3rd party tools, reading not just the numbers but the insights, providing recommendations based on those insights
Provide clear and concise creative and copy direction to internal creative agency
Work hands-on with our various web properties, ensuring content is up-to-date and relevant to the target market
Collaborate with other interns and Viasat team members to assist with larger company initiatives as necessary
Present new ideas, campaign results and product roadmaps to internal and external stakeholders- including an end of the year presentation for what you accomplished during your internship
Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business or a related field
Able to commit to a 10-12 week internship
Ability to think out of the box and brainstorm "the next big idea" to improve the community Wi-Fi program
Familiarity with marketing best practices (eg. online, offline, lead generation, social, user experience, messaging, branding, content, testing, etc.)
Excellent oral, written communication and presentation skills
Computer skills thorough understanding of MS Excel, Word & PowerPoint
Strong time management skills ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
Strong work ethic must be self-motivated and able to take the initiative.
Ability to function in a team environment and communicate with remote team members that cross time zones
Must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program during the internship
Able to commit to a minimum of 10 weeks
Major in Business, Marketing or similar
Language skills in Spanish and/or Portuguese
