Applied Materials is searching for an intern to join our team in summer 2018! The position will entail the following:

  • Responsible for assessing existing and potential markets of moderate scope. Demonstrates comprehensive understanding of technical and business environment. Participates in the development and articulation of strategies to meet business objectives

  • Integrates moderately difficult products into a coherent portfolio of products focused on a market. Manages the portfolio like a "product" (business plan, positioning, buying process, market requirements and marketing plan)

  • Analyzes market data to identify trends/opportunities, develops strategic direction from market information and creates compelling market analysis presentations

  • Drives the needs within targeted markets and analyzes the market segmentations. Recommends which segment(s) to actively pursue

  • Partners with management team and other marketing functions (e.g. product marketing, product management, MarCom) to ensure that overall marketing function is effectively meeting the organization's strategic goals.

  • Oversees creation of moderately difficult product strategies that integrates well with AMAT products

  • Supports the vision and key phases on deliverables for moderately difficult products

  • Responsible for portfolio of products

Requirements

  • Student must be pursuing a Bachelor's degree program in Marketing, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field

  • Student must be in good academic standing at their university, with a GPA of 3.0 or above on a 4.0 scale

  • Knowledge/Skill set of traditional marketing communications mediums web, print, photography, creative writing and video

  • Research and market analysis skills are desirable
