Marketing - Fan Development & Activation Intern / Events & Entertainment Intern

General Description: Working under the direction of the Fan Development & Activation Team, the Marketing Interns are responsible for assisting with event activation, promotional fulfillment, entertainment group assistance, fan program management and enhancing the fan experience and the implementation of the Ravens marketing goals and objectives. The Intern will support the marketing department from RavensWalk and tentpole events to elements in programs including, but not limited to, event set-up and production, promotional development, and budget development/adherence. There are two (2) positions available for 2024.

General Description: Working under the direction of the Manager of Entertainment & Events, the Entertainment & Events Intern is responsible for assisting with event activation, promotional fulfillment, entertainment group assistance, fan program management and enhancing the fan experience and the implementation of the Ravens marketing goals and objectives. There is one (1) position available for 2024.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

Fan Development & Activation Focus (2 positions)

  • Assist with management of vendors, partners, setup, and breakdown of RavensWalk and all Ravens events.

  • Help manage and oversee the Marketing Event Staff, a group of part-time event/gameday staff.

  • Assist with pre-game, halftime, in-game and post-game promotions, and activations for all Ravens home games. Coordinate promotional winner information for in-game execution on RavensVision boards and PA script.

  • Assist the Football Outreach department with execution of youth/high school football initiatives including, but not limited to, Play Like A Raven Football Clinics, 7-on-7 Football Tournaments, Ravens Youth Football Grant, Ravens High School Combine & Showdown, Play at Halftime Games, Girls Flag and Day of Champ celebration.

  • Support with the planning, fulfillment, and execution of partner related events including but not limited to Purple Fridays, Ravens Gaming League tournaments, Fantasy Football and general fan affinity events.

  • Contribute to the planning, execution, database management of the following Ravens programs: RISE, Purple, The Flock, Influencers and Legends.

  • Assist with the creation, selection, execution, and communication of all aspects of Ravens and partner prizes to contest/sweepstakes winners.

  • Consult and research emerging trends, brainstorm ideas for new fan engagement and partnership opportunities.

  • Contribute with recaps for marketing events, programs, initiatives, partnership activations and promotions.

  • Support the Marketing Department holistically with other duties as assigned.

Entertainment & Events Focus (1 position)

  • Support in planning, execution, and day-to-day maintenance of Ravens entertainment programs: Baltimore Ravens Cheerleaders and Baltimore's Marching Ravens.

  • Manage booking process from start to finish for Baltimore Ravens Cheerleaders, mascot Poe, and Baltimore's Marching Ravens. This includes internal and external appearances from initial booking, to invoicing and tracking.

  • Assist with social channels and content for Baltimore Ravens Cheerleaders, Marching Ravens, and mascot Poe. This includes, but is not limited to, planning and creation, video and photo shoot coordination, reporting, and monitoring comments and fan interactions virtually.

  • Contribute to entertainment marketing material design, printing, and distribution. This includes, but is not limited to, headshot cards, legacy books, and cheerleader fan packs.

  • Assist in the recruitment and retention of entertainment group members to ensure quality control of the Ravens brand.

  • Consult and research entertainment group competitors, trends, and ideas.

  • Assist with planning and implementation of Ravens tentpole events such as Draft, Training Camp, Kickoff Party, Movie Night, A Purple Evening, and Away Game Watch Parties.

  • Coordinate event related communication and deadlines with internal stakeholders to ensure teamwork and collaboration organization wide.

  • Contribute with recaps for entertainment programs, marketing events, and appearance reports.

  • Explore emerging trends and develop innovative ideas for event programming & activations.

  • Assist with pre-game, halftime, in-game and post-game promotions and activations for all Ravens home games, as well as planning leading up to gameday and post-gameday cleanup.

  • Support the Marketing Department as a whole with other duties as assigned.

Required Education and/or Experience: Bachelors degree and internship experience in marketing, events, promotions and/or sales, preferably in the sports arena or team related. Excellent organizational and communication skills are a must. Must have the proven ability to successfully perform and deliver results under tight deadlines/pressure with little supervision, last minute changes and/or with multiple reporting lines. Must have graduated by May 2024

Requisite Abilities and/or Skills: Passion for the business of sports, customer focus, attention to detail, and operational excellence. Must be able to work on and manage several tasks at one time. Ability to rely on experience and judgment to plan, set, and accomplish goals. Must enjoy working in a team environment as well as be a self-starter with creativity, complex problem-solving skills, and excellent interpersonal skills. Must have the ability to work long hours including evenings, weekends and holidays as well as have the ability to work outside in various weather conditions. Ability to lift and shuffle items up to 50lbs a must.
